Today, we're announcing Counsel's new weight management program, available to millions of patients through our platform and LillyDirect 🩺
As we were designing this care experience, one statistic stood out: only 32% of GLP-1 users remain on therapy by the end of year one.
"Patients managing obesity benefit from ongoing access to physicians who understand their health journey and take a holistic approach to primary care. We built Counsel to democratize this experience for millions of people," said Dr. @malagappan, Founder and CEO.
Our weight management program is also available through LillyDirect, @EliLillyandCo's direct-to-consumer digital pharmacy, expanding access for patients seeking a high-quality, low-cost, and comprehensive approach to obesity treatment, offered through a modern, messaging-based experience.

We've been quietly working on something exciting, and today we get to share it:
We're unveiling a new look for Counsel! 🎨
One year after launching our consumer product, Counsel has evolved into an AI-native primary care platform treading a broad spectrum of conditions end to end, with more than 8 million people having access.
Our new identity reflects that evolution.
Inspired by textiles, it represents how we connect health data to deliver continuous, personalized care. An expanded color palette reflects our belief that healthcare can feel uplifting, modern, and wellness-oriented, while more expressive visual elements capture the ambition of what we’re building.
While our look has changed, our mission remains the same: to multiply the world's clinical capacity through the pursuit of safe autonomous care.
A huge thank you to our creative partners at Studio Jud and Kinetic Studio for helping shape Counsel's next chapter.

The future of medicine is heading toward autonomous care delivery.
But there are critical steps we need to take to get there responsibly.
In a recent episode of @OffCallDotCom's How I Doctor, Dr. @khakrish, Chief Medical Officer, joined Dr. @grahamwalker to discuss why the path toward autonomous care should first move through a semi-autonomous era, where medical AI and physicians work together to expand what each can accomplish.
The conversation explores why autonomy will likely progress use case by use case, not all at once.
"In its best form, AI plus human clinicians can superpower healthcare," said Dr. Khakhkhar.

We're incredibly excited to welcome Dr. @AaronNeinstein as Counsel's new Chief Growth Officer. 🚀
Aaron brings a unique perspective, combining more than 15 years as a practicing endocrinologist with deep experience building and scaling healthcare technology.
Throughout his career, Aaron has focused on reducing friction in care access, giving patients a more complete view of their health, and strengthening the partnership between patients and physicians.
That perspective will be instrumental as we continue building the future of AI-native primary care.
We recently sat down with Aaron to discuss what brought him to Counsel, how practicing medicine shapes his perspective on medical AI, and why thoughtful deployment will be critical to building the next era of care.

We're incredibly excited to announce that Counsel is joining the CMS Innovation Center's ACCESS Model, bringing AI-native chronic care to Medicare beneficiaries at no out-of-pocket cost. 🩺
Starting in early 2027, eligible Medicare beneficiaries with hypertension, obesity, hyperlipidemia, or prediabetes will have access to Counsel's modern, connected care experience.
Patients will receive personalized guidance from Counsel’s medical AI alongside on-demand access to our board-certified physicians.
We’re also expanding our partnership with @ouraring. For eligible Oura Members ages 65+, Counsel will incorporate continuous biometric data into how care is delivered, helping members move seamlessly from health insights to clinical action within the Oura App.
More than 90% of adults 65+ live with at least one chronic condition, yet many advances in digital health have not reached Medicare beneficiaries at the same scale.
Through ACCESS, we’re proud to help close that gap and bring a more accessible, continuous model of care to the patients who stand to benefit most.

Medical AI shouldn't tell patients what they want to hear.
It should tell them what they need to hear.
As more people turn to AI for medical guidance, patient safety depends on getting that distinction right.
In a recent @Healthgrades article, Dr. @HashemZikry, Medical Director of Research & Policy, explores the risk of "patient appeasement" and why responsible medical AI must know when to:
• Escalate care
• Gather more information
• Involve a physician
Those decisions are fundamental to patient safety.
Dr. Zikry also explains why responsible medical AI requires guardrails throughout the entire care journey, from physician-designed clinical protocols and real-time escalation to continuous evaluation of completed patient interactions.
As these systems scale, he argues that the goal shouldn’t simply be parity with existing care, but to hold medical AI to an even higher standard.
