Art in the Hills is taking place this weekend at Dufton near Appleby. Not only is it a beautiful village with stunning views, the exhibition has some great work on show, including our very own Roseanna Bellwood who only went and won The Dufton Prize!

I've been in Appleby, #Cumbria today and popped into one of the most beautiful shops in the county (if not country). If you're ever in Appleby, do pop in to @CourtyardGall . Books, artwork, coffee, cake, greeting cards and more.
New in are these stunning ceramic clocks by Ian Roberts. Hand built and raku fired. We love the zingy colours!
We’ve been keeping quiet about these… But yes they’re in stock. Art Angels fabulous advent calendars.
Lots more in the Gallery
Inspired by origami, Pigeon is a beautifully crafted combination of letter and envelope.
Recreating the magic and joy of the handwritten letter for a new generation. A great gift for birthdays or Christmas.
Now in stock!

Book early as our monthly films often sell out.
As part of the Green Door Art Trail, our resident artist Roseanna Bellwood will be opening her studio 27th-29th September.
A great opportunity to visit Appleby artist Roseanna Bellwood’s studio at the Courtyard Gallery. Rosie will be demonstrating her printmaking techniques and explaining her work. As well as a mini exhibition in our Gallery, there’ll be plenty of unframed work to see in her studio.
Lovely day to sit out in the Courtyard, lots of lovely goodies in our shop & gallery!

The art world lost an amazing talent yesterday, printer & painter Piers Browne. Piers has been exhibiting at the Courtyard since the early ‘90’s. What a great loss. We’ll miss his friendship and support.
If you’re wondering who this is on our railings, it’s been made by Appleby’s Crafty Ladies, who’ve created a town trail of colourful arty things. Call into Appleby and take a look, it’s great fun!
The Courtyard’s coming along nicely. Lovely to sit in the sun or shade and enjoy a drink in one of Appleby’s hidden corners.

Shortlisted for Lakeland Book of the Year is Sketching a Year in Lakeland, a beautiful book by Liz Wakelin, and is available in our shop!
Glad to be a small part in this.
This beautiful book is still on sale here at the Courtyard!
Incredible to report we have sold 10,000 copies of Forty Farms.
What is more remarkable than these stories within the cover, is that the book was produced by @inspiredbylakeland an independent local publisher here in Cumbria. Not a national publisher with national distribution!
