New details on how the $6.3 billion Binance hack likely occurred: According to initial reports, hackers compromised a Binance engineer's laptop, gaining access to internal systems used to authorize withdrawals. The attackers then: 1. Hijacked a Binance hot wallet using Ethereum's EIP-7702 mechanism 2. Redirected wallet transactions to a malicious smart contract 3. Transferred billions in crypto attacker-controlled wallets 4. Spread the stolen funds across multiple wallets and converted some assets into ETH to avoid freezes The attack unfolded across multiple blockchains, with most funds drained in ~20 minutes. ~$3 billion of these funds have now been frozen, and Binance says it will cover all unrecovered hacking losses. The full investigation remains ongoing.

Maybe some of you knew about those but it's the first time I've come across them and it blew my mind. So we're on a beach in the Philippines and we kept seeing these egg-like green balls in the seagrass. At first I thought they were plastic because they looked kind of like plastic toy capsules. But there were so many of them all over the beach that either some kid had lost the biggest toy collection in history, or something else was going on. So I checked and turns out they're called "Sailor's Eyeballs" (Valonia ventricosa) and each one is a single-celled organism, one of the largest on earth. Yup, that's one cell: the "plastic" shell is its cell wall, and everything inside is made of nuclei and cell sap. I never knew cells could get that big, I always assumed - wrongly, it turns out - that all cells were microscopic. You learn everyday!

Just learned that Patrick Stewart has passed away. Such a sad loss. Here he is in one of the best things ever put on television, the Star Trek episode “The Measure of a Man.” I show it to my students in Philosophy and Science Fiction every year.
Patrick Stewart has sadly passed away at the age of 86.

I don’t understand why so few people use Grok Bot inside Blender Same prepared NASA/JPL rover asset. Same assembly brief. Claude Opus 5.5: 36 minutes. $24. Grok Bot: 3 minutes. $2. Watch 00:17. The $2 rover has its arm raised. The other still has its camera mast floating above the chassis. Full prompt in the comments.
Elon Musk's Grok Bot has a cloud computer. What should you actually make it do? Here are 15 prompts for code, research, and writing. Copy one, give your bot a job, and check what comes back.
