+24 C outside now at almost midnight,+31 C inside. Only creating crosswind by opening windows and doors helped during this heatwave in the daytime. 3 fans working non stop, blinds down, nothing helps this horrid heat. I now dread summers. 😿

i’m so sorry for everytime i complained about rainy british summers, i’m so sorry for the times i begged for the rain to stop and the sun to come out. i’ll take the rain, the gloom, the pitch black 4pm afternoons if it means never having to melt in this hell every again.

People from hot countries always laugh when Brits complain about 30 degrees. Mate, your houses are built to stay cool. Ours were apparently designed by someone who thought summer would never happen.

the uk wealth divide is genuinely insane like to this day you’ll have boomers saying shit like “yeah but if you don’t buy a beer on a friday you’d be able to afford a £300 aircon unit and run it no problem” like omg you people wouldn’t last 3 days living on the poverty line

The only time I’ve experienced temperatures like this before was in Perth, Australia but they had the infrastructure to cope. This is NOT normal for the UK (and some of Europe) and anyone trying to convince you otherwise is likely taking money from the fossil fuel industry.

Good to know from the GOP that climate change is fake
Today was the hottest day ever recorded in France, breaking the record set just yesterday.

Can we all take a moment to think about the people still working in this brutal heat today?🥵☀️ The bin men, tradesmen, Bus drivers, tube drivers, delivery drivers. Road workers, couriers…and everyone else grafting in sweltering conditions. Massive respect to you all. 👏✊🇬🇧❤️

whats also so bad about a heatwave this severe and EARLY in the year is that we have roughly 5 hours without sun so houses have no time to properly cool down (nvm the fact that it doesn’t go below 20 at night either) and the brick stores ALL the heat from the day

Sending reporters to do heatwave stories to camera at the beach is a such a lazy bit of consent manufacturing. 35C does not equal the beach. Do the report on a building site where people are on the verge of passing out. Do it from a hospital ward.

The kindest thing literature does is remind you that your peculiar little feelings have always existed. Someone, in some century, was equally confused by love, bored by society, tired of performing, and hungry for meaning.

Britain will never look like this again because business rates/rent & Brexit's import duty are far too high to make a greengrocer's profitable, plus that pond is now full of shit for maximum water company profits, and lastly, Thatcher helped sell off all of our car manufacturing.
I would give absolutely everything for the UK to look like this once again.

Can someboady please explain to me why 32 degrees abroad feels absolutely amazing but 32 degrees in the UK feels like you're in a sauna that's on fucking fire?

While the government collapses, kids are fainting in classrooms and workers are sweltering. It's time to heatproof Britain: 1⃣ Heatproofing for every home that needs it 2⃣Cooling measures for schools, hospitals and care homes 3⃣ A maximum workplace temperature limit.

Anyone who's never experienced a heatwave in the UK thinks we're over reacting when we say how hot it is. It's not the same as other countries. The humidity is high and our houses are designed to keep the heat in. Our houses basically become air fryers and we don't have air con.
