WE HAVE MET BEFORE
What does it mean to recognise something you have never encountered before?
We Have Met Before brings together Ayoola Gbolahan, Djakou Kassi Nathalie and Toju Clarke in an exhibition exploring how memory, cultural knowledge and visual language travel across places, generations and lived experiences.
Through distinct artistic practices, the artists explore how images, forms and gestures carry traces of familiarity; how something encountered for the first time can nevertheless feel remembered.
Presented by Creath Art Gallery, the exhibition brings these practices into dialogue, inviting us to reconsider what we recognise, what we inherit, and what connects us across different contexts.
