🍂 Emberveil — Guardian of the Fading Light
The year winter came too early, the oldest tree in the forest called her name.
Emberveil rose from a bed of fallen leaves, crowned with antlers, the last warmth of autumn burning in her palms. Beyond the ancient oaks, a hungry darkness crept between the trunks, silencing every creature it passed.
She knelt beside the oldest tree and pressed her flame into its hollow heart.
Beneath her feet, the roots began to glow. Golden light travelled through the forest, reaching every burrow, every sleeping seed. At its edge, the darkness paused—and slowly withdrew.
By dawn, Emberveil had vanished. Only a single amber leaf remained upon the snow.
They say it is still warm.
