And once you remove the jargon, the model is actually quite easy to understand. Under the proposed mandate: 100% of the revenue generated by Ult and Cronos Launch would be used to buy crypto-com-chain:native on the open market and burn it — indefinitely. Not 10% Not a portion of the profits 100% of the revenue So the obvious question is: Who pays for development, infrastructure, marketing and growth? Cronos Labs says those costs would be covered using its existing capital. That means revenue generated by Ult and Cronos Launch would not be redirected to fund their day-to-day operations. It would have one defined destination: Revenue → Open-market crypto-com-chain:native purchases → Burn 🔥 And there’s another important part of the strategy: No new token Ult doesn’t have an Ult token Cronos Launch doesn’t have a Launch token Cronos Network remains Cronos Network, and crypto-com-chain:native remains the network token. Instead of creating another token to capture the activity generated by these products, the proposal connects that activity back to CRO. So where could that revenue come from? ⚡ Ult Ult is the new name of the former Cronos App. It is being built as an all-in-one trading experience across different markets, including crypto spot, perps across crypto/equities/commodities, prediction markets and more. More usage and trading activity can generate revenue for the platform. 🚀 Cronos Launch Cronos Launch is Cronos Labs’ own token launchpad. Users can launch and trade assets there, with trading activity generating fees. Different products Different users Different sources of activity But under the proposed mandate, the destination of the revenue would be the same: crypto-com-chain:native. Cronos Labs also states that these buybacks and burns would happen monthly and on-chain, with transaction hashes published so the activity can be verified. That means the proposed mechanism isn’t about occasionally deciding whether it is a good moment to buy CRO. It is designed to become a recurring part of the mandate. There is one important thing to remember: This is still a governance proposal. The Strategy proposal is scheduled for September 18, 2026. If approved, Cronos Labs would move forward with the mandate. If it is not approved, Cronos Labs has stated that it will not proceed with the strategy. So this isn’t about predicting the result or telling anyone how to vote.
