North Korea. @cz_binance. Binance hack. $6.3 billion. A lot to take in over the past 24 hours. Yesterday’s Binance hack, investigators linking it to North Korea, CZ responding, and a timeline full of updates as everyone tries to understand what happened. A few days ago on our livestream, we spoke about something that feels especially relevant today: how privileged we are to have the access to information we now have. Much of what we can follow from our phones once belonged on a Wall Street desk, behind expensive terminals and closed doors. Most people would read about it later in the newspaper. Today, we can watch events unfold, hear directly from the people involved, and examine the data ourselves. It’s easy to take that for granted when the timeline feels overwhelming. But being able to understand more, question more, and make better-informed decisions is a remarkable change. Of course, access brings its own challenge. There is so much coming at you that sometimes you need help putting the pieces together. Yesterday, we saw the story appearing across Spectre in different places, through different ways of presenting the data. Watching those pieces come together reminded me why we started building this. Our thesis remains the same: make market information accessible and help people make sense of it. There are real people worried about their money behind these headlines. Having a clearer picture matters, especially on days like this.
