Arrived Manila this morning after a 10-hour bus ride.
Done with our first agenda here. Eric Salvino, Malou Sambo, and myself (the two are from our Housing Office) visited the Bureau of Internal Revenue Main Office to discuss our application for exemption from the payment of Transfer Taxes for properties awarded by the City Government to Urban Poor Beneficiaries.
Thank you very much, Commissioner Charlito Martin Mendoza, for warmly receiving us. And special thanks to Deputy Commissioner for Legal Atty. Larry Barcelo and the Legal Team for taking care of us.

When I assumed my post on June 30, 2025, Naga City was not yet recognized by the DOH as a Universal Health Care Integration Site. We were among the last, with Camarines Sur, as all the other provinces were recognized ahead of us .
We double-timed and in the 3rd Quarter of 2025, we finally achieved our recognition. Thanks to our men and women at the City Health Office who did all the hard work. Special thanks to Dra Jeanette Ruin who was the lead of these efforts.
Yesterday, at Philhealth’s APPLAUSE Recognition Rites, we were awarded UHC Champion Award for the first time (Hall of Famer na ang Sorsogon! Kakayanon ta man yan🙏).
The Award reads:
UHC Champion Award in recognition of Naga’s exemplary leadership and contributions to advancing Universal Health Care and the National Health Insurance Program, given during the 2026 APPLAUSE (Appreciation and Passalamat for Partners for Lasting Alliance, Unwavering Support and Excellence), in Legazpi City.
Thank you to Al de los Santos for representing me.
