The Story of $TROLL : The Eternal Fight for the Trollface
On April 19, 2023, $TROLL launched on Ethereum. In the early days, with developer Hunter Troller, the coin surged to a $5 million market cap. But the hype faded quickly. The price crashed, and the dev became more and more inactive, eventually going silent.
That’s when the real story began. A passionate group of community members stepped up. They refused to let the legendary Trollface meme fade away. Together they fought to give it the place it deserved in internet culture. The original dev made one final brief appearance before disappearing for good (permanently AFK). From mid-2023 onward, the community stood alone, and they thrived.
They kept pushing daily, creating content, staying active, and believing in the dream. Their dedication was rewarded at the end of December 2023, when the coin slowly started climbing again and fresh energy returned to the project.
2024 became the year of the legendary troll.run. After changing the bio to “Chief Troll Officer” and with support from viral posts by Elon Musk, $TROLL exploded to a $124 million market cap. A strong sell-off followed, but the community struck back. One member launched the official Troll NFTs (etherscan.io/token/0x2257464…) and redirected a significant portion of the proceeds back into the project for marketing. Using these community-funded resources, they pushed the coin to the $100 million mark once more.
When selling pressure eventually became too heavy and momentum slowed, the community didn’t quit. They stayed active every single day across 𝕏 and other platforms.
True to their values, everything was built non-profit and financed purely by the community. They launched an AI Telegram bot named Hunter Troller and official merch, always with the clear principle that no one should personally profit from the community or the meme itself. Their goal was simple: let the culture grow freely, organically, and without gatekeeping.
After celebrating their 2-year anniversary, a copycat $TROLL launched on Solana just three days later. This project copied their slogans and memes almost 1:1, but positioned itself against the principles of decentralization and true meme culture. The original community on $ETH initially ignored it, until the other side began spreading misinformation and using aggressive tactics, such as spamming CoinMarketCap comments and posts. They even acquired the IP rights from Whynne, disregarding Carlos Ramirez’s public statement that he would never enforce them against memecoins.
Still, the real $TROLL community remained unbroken. They fought for true meme culture and decentralization.
To this day, they have created over 3,000 memes and videos, built powerful tools like the coin scanner and meme generator at trove.wtf, launched NFTs that honor the culture, and stood strong against every wave of FUD and every attack.
This is more than a coin.
