To be clear: it is unambiguously good for Americans to be protesting ICE. Republicans keep characterizing it as bad. But protesting against tyranny and abuses of power is a great American tradition. It is similar to what is happening - and being celebrated - this week in Iran.

“Trump’s desire to punish his enemies…” as I was just saying
Politics doesn't matter to them anymore. If Trump is going to stay president, it would be by suspending the Constitution. For the next two years, it'll be all about punishing his enemies and rewarding his friends. Most want $$. Miller wants a population purge. He's getting it

From the beginning of the Trump era, the greatest threat to conservatism was always from the Trump right, not the woke left. The conservatives who ignored Trump or minimized him to join with MAGA to wage war on the left were partners in their own demise.

One senior official from the first Trump administration described him (Stephen Miller) to me as “the biggest asshole I have ever met.” Choosing him for the job at this moment is not just a big f--k you to voters who despised Miller’s brutal anti-immigrant tactics and contempt for due process and the rule of law, it also sends a clear message to Democratic leaders. No, you dork. We don’t want you dead. We just think you’re a completely unserious person and we want you to take a job with Newsmaxxxx or Alex Jones or moderating a Reddit conspiracy forum and leave the legislating to functional adults who don’t tweet 200 times a day.
They also want us dead

Democrats should be ecstatic that Miller got promoted. He's really the most tone deaf idiot in the administration. Even crazy progressives are going to look sane by comparison. He's going to give them a lot of cover to be crazy.

Look at how the right is reacting to this news. Miller is the freak who slandered Alex Pretti as a would be assassin after he was murdered by federal agents. The right loved it and loved seeing Miller dance on his grave. This is your signal that the right sees itself at war with the majority of the country post midterms and is willing to impose its agenda even if that means killing more people. Americans just rebuked the entire GOP agenda. Hardline Republicans now are a small minority of extremists whose views are repugnant to the majority, and their response to midterms has been to promote the white nationalist in the White House and barricade the doors. Democrats have a mandate to fight Miller, the admin, and the right with every ounce of power voters have given them.

Steven Miller's immigration policy has taken arguably the GOP's best issue and made it a liability. He, second only to Trump himself, is responsible for blowing up the multiracial coalition that elected Trump in 2024 and sparked the GOP's dream of a multiracial working class coalition. He's also probably the single most despised person in American politics. So of course, Trump appointed him Chief of Staff after getting humiliated at the polls. It's so perfect.

We're reporting only a fraction of measles cases in the US; some estimates put it as low as 20% in states like PA. This outbreak is much larger than what's reported and is spilling into highly vulnerable communities like babies and pregnant women. We will lose our Measles elimination status this month, and it will take years of responsible public health management to get it back. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

If you say an election was stolen, they'll come after you. I'm saying it. I'm saying that everyone at least needs to know it wasn't stolen, or you lose the country. Can we at least look into these irregularities? WE MUST.

Stephen Miller says that the Trump administration is 'actively looking at' suspending habeas corpus, the constitutional right to challenge unlawful detention
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is a May 2025 clip. Stephen Miller said the Trump administration was actively looking at suspending habeas corpus. Reports indicate the proposal was seriously debated but White House lawyers advised it requires Congressional action. No suspension has occurred. reason.com/2026/06/17/the… washingtonexaminer.com/news/justice/3… dailycaller.com/2025/05/09/ste…
