Middle East: Due to tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation. Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise heightened vigilance and be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions. Iranian-supported Houthis have engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including civilian airports. This military conflict has the potential to escalate rapidly. Americans outside the Middle East should seriously reconsider travel to and through the region. Those who do travel to or from the region should monitor information about airport and airline operations. U.S. diplomatic facilities, including outside the Middle East, have been targeted. Iran and groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or at locations associated with the United States and Americans throughout the world, including U.S. businesses and other institutions. If you're looking at a monthly chart like this in the crypto space and you're not now getting bullish, I think we're looking at different things

This is a fair take.
A deal doesn’t have to have a winner and a loser.
The US is focused on defending the North Atlantic, Denmark is focused on the rights and security of the Greenlandic people.
Both got what they wanted if we set aside all the insults, threats and demands made by Trump during the process.
Yep this
What the Bank of England announced this week, the more scandalous it is from a taxpayer’s perspective.
The BoE announced gilt sales in September 2022, a day before the mini-budget, and began selling that November. Selling into a weak market added pressure to borrowing costs, imposed avoidable losses on taxpayers and almost blew up pension funds (LDI crisis).
Now the Bank is stopping sales of £120 billion of its longest-dated gilts, holding them until maturity instead. It has also paused auctions until April 2027 and proposes selling another £146 billion directly to the Treasury at market prices, at roughly £20 billion annually.
If better coordination can reduce market pressure and taxpayer costs now, why wasn’t it adopted earlier?
The BOE, MSM and politicians threw @trussliz and @kwasi_stackbtc under the bus for the BOE incompetence.
The proposed Treasury purchases would take place at market prices, funded through new government borrowing. The debt does not disappear.
Nor does this guarantee lower long-term gilt yields. Higher oil prices will push up inflation expectations and anticipated interest rates, which will overwhelm any relief from reduced BoE selling.
The Bank can change how gilts reach the market. It cannot remove the inflationary pressure coming from energy.
These institutions do not act in the taxpayers interest and have 0 accountability.
Buy bitcoin and gold and opt out, fiat is going to 0.
“If you bought a French government bond Q1 2021, as of yesterday you’d have lost 78% capital value.”…. “French CPI basket since then is up 18%, so you’ve effectively had your capital wiped”
Interesting
The Greenland deal proves that the Trump administration operates on hedge fund logic - and that’s why they continually clash with Europe.
What Trump achieves with the Greenland deal is to remove the absolute tail risk, meaning the absolute worst case scenario. That was Greenland becoming independent and choosing to align itself with China.
A few Greenlandic politicians have fantasised about this, so it was a scenario you couldn't rule out 100% (only 99.99%).
In the Trump administration's hedge fund mindset, it was therefore a tail risk that had to be eliminated.
For Denmark and other allies, it makes no sense to threaten the very existence of NATO and the US-European relationship to remove this tail risk. We’re simply not used to US foreign policy being run like a hedge fund. And that’s why we keep clashing.

$BTC
So we know who’ll be chasing the move….
The dead cat continues to bounce.
What is Bitcoin, 17 years later?
It’s not great for transactions or smart contracts; the user experience is still intimidating for most, and it’s no longer capturing the public’s imagination.
If it comes up at the dinner party, it's followed by a hearty “remember that!”
It’s a boring store of value, trusted as that—which is its biggest value.
It's boring.
Folks expect bitcoin to be stable and that it’s no longer a way to get rich quick.
Institutions embracing and accumulating it took $btc from punk rock to Muzak.
Advocates went from pirates to suits in orange ties, awkwardly sharing cringe memes — just like the cool kids do!
If Bitcoin were going to reach mass adoption and an important use case, it does better than anyone else, it would have by now.
Bitcoin feels like the CD in the age of Spotify, the DVD in the age of Netflix — a bridge technology that folks who invested in “their collection” keep saying is the better experience.
Perhaps bitcoin is vinyl, cool memories and fun to drag out and put on display, but a technology that served us to get to where we are now.
