CLOUDIEST JANUARY ON RECORD in Chicago coming to an end despite Tuesday's near 100% sunshine. It's also the 2nd cloudiest month ever in Chicago. Sunshine records date back to 1894. #dreary #Cloudy #Chicago

There's a word for it: "apricity: the warmth of the sun in winter"
Non Midwesterners do not fully appreciate how warm and pleasant 45 and sunny feels in the dead of winter.

Yes, monumentally important story. I always thought stillbirths were the stuff of Victorian novels, until I had two of my own. Important work happening here.

When seasons collide
Yes! I read all kinds of things I wouldn't read otherwise, just because they're in the paper. (I miss getting the print edition, but the digital version gives me the same discovery experience!)
One of the delightful things about getting your news from an actual newspaper is that there is no algorithm. You aren't just reading what an algorithm thinks you want. You see all kinds of articles you'd never think would be interesting or important to you—and find out they are!

Every day is a perfect day for a content audit
Now is the perfect time to audit the content you currently have. Look at individual pieces and ask: How is it performing? Are people reading it all the way through? Is it still generating traffic to your site?

It's a beautiful fall day for a crunchy leaf walk to my local polling station. Smiling at all the neighbors doing the same over lunchtime.

Don't just shrug at the long list of judicial retention questions on your ballot Tuesday! The Illinois Bar Association rates all the judges currently seeking retention, sorted by county. Very helpful! isba.org/judicialevaluations
This book is so good and has burrowed itself so deeply into my head that I can't bear to finish it, so obviously I will sit here and scroll until bedtime
Once again, my student waited until I showered and put on real pants before canceling (but before I left the house, thankfully!)

Awesome point by the incredible Mona ... I think infographics often fail because they're "info-overwhelming." Give people the valuable takeaway(s), then offer a go-to destination to dig into it more. "Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication." ~Leonardo da Vinci #mpb2b

'Tomorrow!' cried Toad. 'I will do it all tomorrow!'

This is basically the picture I drew for a manager years ago when he said he wanted to put me on the management track! (Though the Manager side needs at least one double-booking and something from 12-1.) No thank you!
