Day 1 of Fly Your Thesis! ‘20. Both teams @aimisfyt and @RELOXTeam flew their expts after spending one year building them. The @AirZeroG plane is a unique platform where scientists float beside their expts. Basically astros for one day! All went well and students were delighted!

Update: I’m back on the ground. And to all those who were convinced I would be sick, there wasn’t even a hint of nausea. But zero-G is a lot of fun. And (obviously) scientifically fascinating. But mostly fun.

Well, here we go. We leave at 9:30am French time & keen beans can track us on flightradar24.com as f-wnov. Scientists & engineers have given humans some amazing things & short periods of microgravity on Earth is def on the list. I’m glad @uclmecheng teddy is with me though.

He's been to space, driven a rover and taken part in over 250 experiments for @ESA, but throughout it all @astro_timpeake has seized the opportunity to engage young people with engineering. That's why we awarded him the Rooke Award last week: bit.ly/2XJZd8h #RAEngAwards
