The Restored Church of Jesus Christ is the stone cut without hands. It will overcome the kingdoms of earth and fill the world.

There's a kind of two-step evangelicals perform against LDS and Catholics, since we are institutional faiths, they can lay every charge directly against the church, but if we bring up, say, the Salem Witch Trials, or Luther's anti-Semitism, or Tammy Faye Baker, or any other series of obviously corrupt and evil Protestant practices and doctrines, they can always shrug and say, that wasn't REAL Christianity. Being Protestant means you are a diffuse target and are always at least a few steps aways from having to take accountability for the works of your faith.

I don't buy the argument that if only we'd stop making people feel bad for committing sin, then they could stop doing it.

I've thought of fasting primarily as a time to supplicate the Lord for a need. Giving to the needy seemed like "Hey, might as well since I saved a few bucks." But Isaiah puts helping the needy as a primary reason. Interesting I hadn't noticed before.

If anyone understands the Bible perfectly well enough to create a list like this, it's certainly this random guy.
Find a new church if your pastor: - Says that Mormons are Christians. - Says that Calvinism is heresy. - Doesn't believe in a literal rapture or Tribulation. - Thinks that the millennial reign is happening right now. - Has a soft stance on Islam. - Judges parents for celebrating Halloween or Santa. - Wears skinny jeans and designer T-shirts. - Claims that the gift of healing still exists in 2026. - Refuses to preach verse by verse. - Has been unfaithful to his wife in the past. - Allows women to preach in the pulpit. - Believes that drinking alcohol is a sin. - Promotes the idea that God used evolution to create the Earth. - Refuses to encourage his flock to vote for Bible-aligned candidates. - Spends more time on podcasts than meeting people within his own church. - Cusses and has no remorse. - Uses props like ladders or Lamborghinis during sermons. - Promotes the prosperity gospel. - Believes that Jesus loves all of humanity and ultimately, everyone will go to heaven. - Thinks he knows when the rapture will happen. - Refuses to carry out church discipline for homosexuality or living together before marriage. Did I miss any?

Why are marriage and birth rates falling among Latter-day Saints young adults? Sure, culture plays a role, but there's one source you might not have thought of before: parents. About 10 years ago, BYU professors started polling their students about their barriers in dating and marriage. They've noticed a sizable shift in the answers over the past 10 years: parents urging their kids to delay marriage. Many couples visit them in their offices, saying: "We're in love, we can't stand being apart, we've even prayed about it many times and we feel so good about it, but our parents are saying no. And they don't even have a great reason for no other than 'we just need to wait.'" One professor asks his class to "raise your hand if your parents have incentivized you to NOT get married." And "it's pretty consistently about a third of them" and "it's a higher percentage of women than men." Somewhere along the line, in our desire to make sure our kids had a realistic picture of marriage, we also stopped teaching the blessings and duty of marriage like we once did. Interview with the BYU professors below. Great resource. This whole series on the Family Proclamation is amazing 👇 youtu.be/zjlRtG2Dxdw

There seem to be a lot of men who think if someone else is doing something wrong it justifies them doing something wrong. One of the first things I teach my kids when they're tattling is this fallacy.
It's weird to see married men downplay pornography use or engage in whataboutism: "Can you really go after men for pornography when their wives don't want sex as often?" That's gross in several ways: 1. Marriage is a covenant, not a contract. You promised her complete fidelity in thought and action, period. There's no escape clause that says you can cheat on her if she doesn't meet your "expectations." 2. You didn't just make covenants with your wife-- you made covenants with God. And at baptism and in the Temple you promised you would be strictly celibate in thought and in action outside of marriage. Pornography isn't just destroying your promise to your imperfect wife, it's destroying your promise to your perfect God. 3. "My sexual needs" is a stupid term. Sorry, didn't we all learn the difference between needs and wants when we were, like, three? Intimacy is a wonderful and important blessing for married couples. But it isn't a right, and it isn't a need. 4. Acknowledge your agency. Women feel close, then desire intimacy; men feel close through intimacy. Informed and healthy couples acknowledge this and learn to communicate and compromise. But let's say your wife is ignorant of this or withholds intimacy. This doesn't excuse you. Your libido doesn't make you do anything. The whole purpose of mortality is for the natural man to yield to God. We are agents to act, and blaming your "uncontrollable need" is an excuse that turns you from a divine human being with the power to act into a mere object to be acted upon. 5. You set up a dumb standard In law this is called an argument that "proves too much." If men who are "sexually frustrated" by their wives are justified-- in whole or in part-- in consuming pornography, how can we have any requirements for our young men, our missionaries, our single adults, the husbands whose wives are physically incapacitated, and the widower? They have no "outlet" at all-- what would your standard mean for them? The law of chastity is not contingent on your marital status or marital happiness. 6. A hero in my eyes "But isn't that asking me to hold myself to a higher standard than I hold my wife?" Yes. I've seen wonderful examples of men who've chosen this higher path in my life. I'll share one. A man I know well faced a severe trial when his wife had a psychological breakdown around their relationship and demanded they separate. The only thing that kept her from filing for official divorce was that he was willing to keep her on his health insurance and continue paying all her bills. They lived apart in that horribly unfair arrangement for years-- her living in the house on his dime while he lived in a trailer on the other side of town, only coming to his own house with her permission to fix things and clean up after her. Many asked why he put up with that arrangement. He would simply reply, "Because I love her. I know she's in pain. This is not her 'final form.' Life would be easier to cut loose. But I made a covenant to her and to God. And I will honor it for the rest of my life, and I pray we come out the other side and enjoy exaltation together." She did "come to herself" after a few years, and they got together again. But that man was prepared and willing to stay in it for the long haul. That's the kind of dedication Christ showed for us, and it's the dedication He asks us to show to our spouses: the kind of faithfulness that is unfailingly loyal even when we think it's undeserved or unrequited. He asks us to be the man that demands everything of himself, but is infinitely patient with others in the covenant. Because he's 100% committed and he's in it for the long haul.

Apparently cussing increases your engagement on this app. Would Christian cussing work too? If so, I’m gonna fudging do it.

I always tell the kids not to do something because they'll break something. My wife always tells the kids not to do the same thing because they'll get hurt.

Precisely. Many of the pro-choice arguments made today were made regarding slavery before abolition. Slave owner: I can’t afford to free my slaves, my business will suffer. Pro-abortion: I can’t afford having a baby, it will impact my career and lifestyle. Slave owner: I’m not forcing you to own slaves, leave me alone. Pro-abortion: I’m not forcing you to abort, leave me alone. Slave owner: Slaves are my property, I can choose what to do with them. Pro-abortion: It’s my body, I can choose what to do with it. Slave owner: My rights come before the rights of slaves. Pro-abortion: My rights come before the rights of the fetus. Slave owner: If my slaves are freed, they will suffer, living on the streets without a job and starve. Pro-abortion: If all these unwanted babies are born, they will end up on the streets and suffer. Slave owner: A slave has no rights. Pro-abortion: A fetus has no rights. Slave owner: Slavery has been practiced for eons. It is our heritage! Pro-abortion: Abortion has been legal for decades, it is our right!

I remember in boy scouts a guy coming to teach CPR. He said if it's a woman we should open her shirt and pull her bra over her head so it wouldn't get in the way. I later found out that guy was a sex offender.
