I'm very glad that I managed to get the driver to abort their overtake. Reviewing the video sent chills down my spine. This is the biggest danger that I face on rural roads. It is mind boggling how some drivers fail to see the danger of overtaking towards blind bends.

At this very moment, dozens of homes behind the Yellow Line in Gaza City are being demolished. Entire residential areas are being wiped out and turned into empty land. The Yellow Line continues to expand day after day, while the world knows almost nothing about what is happening here. There is very little media coverage, and news of these demolitions is barely reaching the outside world. Write, share, and speak about what is happening in Gaza.

In a shocking attack on free speech, a man walked out of a London cinema, calling the latest Ali G movie “a load of rubbish”. A woman who was wearing an IDF t-shirt nearby burst into tears and no one rushed to console her. This meant she had to call the police herself. The suspect escaped the cinema in a getaway vehicle, but counter-terrorism police arrested him at his home. The prime minister says it was part of an Iran-linked terror plot, but bizarrely the man has been released on bail. When confronted by reporters in his street, he looked confused. He explained: “I used to think Ali G was funny when I was 18 and stupid, but I hadn’t paid attention to him for 20 years. I decided to give the movie a go because I liked the idea of going into an empty cinema, but it wasn’t worth it. It was just a sad old man wearing blackface and perving over women young enough to be his granddaughter. It was embarrassing.” I apologise for quoting his hate speech word for word, but it’s important the public understands how bad the problem has got. What is the world coming to when a Zionist can’t wear blackface or fantasise about Sydney Sweeney? I tried to find fans of the movie for comment, but unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be any. Despite a massive PR push, only 14 people went to see Ali G worldwide, so it was moved to streaming services where no one bothered to stream it. What makes this particularly upsetting is that Cohen has worked his whole life for this. He was heavily involved in the Labour Zionist youth movement and spent time living on kibbutzes, which he credits with honing his comedy skills. This explains why he is to comedy what Gal Gadot is to acting. Cohen’s movie Borat was a massive hit in Israel, partly because the language the character speaks is actually Hebrew and it’s filled with inside jokes that only Zionists understand. Those jokes are hilarious, but they aren’t meant for the goyim. Think about about the last time you hit translate on Hebrew Twitter post before they removed the translate button. It’s that level of comedy. People accuse Cohen of being Mossad just because he played a legendary Mossad agent in The Spy and an Israeli security expert in Who Is America? Obviously, this accusation is ridiculous and can only be driven by antisemitism. To prove the point, Cohen joined forces with the Anti-Defamation League—the organisation whose leader brags about cyberstalking critics of Israel. Cohen has called social media platforms “the greatest propaganda machines in history”. He blames an online boycott for Ali G bombing harder than the IDF in Gaza. Cohen explained that “pro-Palestine activists” and "Hamas-affiliated operatives” are the reason no one went to see his movie. Just know that if you’re one of those people, you face up to 14 years in prison under the Terrorism Act. Andy Burnham is so concerned about the boycott that he’s just held an emergency COBRA meeting. Everyone who attended the meeting wore blackface in solidarity with Israel, apart from Shabana Mahmoud who wore a Borat moustache instead. You will be pleased to know the Ali G movie will now be shown in all schools as part of a deradicalisation program. If the little shits don’t improve their behaviour fast, we might even make them watch Borat.

I can hardly imagine anyone who hasn’t seen this photograph. But it was taken on this day in 2000. I cannot believe the photo is 26 years old now. The boy in the photograph was Fares Odeh. He was just 14 years old. Ten days after this image was captured, Fares went out again to throw stones at Israeli tanks, seeking to avenge the killing of his 17-year-old cousin. An Israeli sniper shot him in the neck, killing him. And there is another chilling detail to this photograph. The photo changed Israeli tank doctrine. In August 2001, The Jerusalem Post quoted an anonymous tank doctrinist saying tank personnel were now instructed to fire upon rock-throwers.

That story about Google killing hundreds of thousands of trees in Finland for its data center project is such a perfect microcosm of what capitalism is doing to our world. Recent mass media headlines are saying the tech giant "illegally" cut down "250,000" trees, but both claims paint an inaccurate picture of what actually happened. Google killed 400,000 trees (250,000 near a town called Muhos and another 150,000 near the village of Otanmäki), and unless the company's executives actually wind up going to prison for this, their actions cannot properly be described as "illegal". I don't know who first coined the saying "If the penalty is a fine, then it's legal for rich people," but it certainly applies here. The Finnish Licensing and Supervision Authority has reportedly ordered Google to suspend all “measures that significantly change the environment," saying it will "consider enforcement proceedings and fines" if the megacorporation does not comply. Google's parent company Alphabet has a net worth of around four trillion dollars. Whatever paltry penalties Finland might impose for these ecocidal actions, it won't have any meaningful effect on Google. Giant corporations do this shit all the time. They calculate that the fines incurred by their abusive actions will be dwarfed by the massive profits they generate, issue fake apologies as needed, and leave it to their armies of lawyers to minimize the damage. That's why the Sackler family is still worth billions despite all the fines Purdue Pharma was slapped with while creating the US opiate epidemic. A 2017 Harvard study titled “The Opioid Epidemic: Fixing a Broken Pharmaceutical Market" contains the following paragraph: "Although civil claims and criminal charges were brought against Purdue and its executives, the resulting penalties paled in comparison to extended-release oxycodone profits. In May 2007, the company and its president, chief counsel, and former chief medical officer pled guilty to falsely marketing extended-release oxycodone as 'less addictive, less subject to abuse and diversion, and less likely to cause tolerance and withdrawal than other pain medications.' As part of the plea bargain, Purdue agreed to pay the federal government $600 million and 27 states $20 million. The three executives agreed to $34.5 million in fines but avoided jailtime. By contrast, Purdue has earned an estimated $31 billion in total revenues from extended-release oxycodone since its launch. Rather than deterring fraudulent marketing, the penalties simply became a cost of doing business." A cost of doing business. That's how things work under capitalism. The law primarily exists not to protect people or the environment, but to protect the interests of capital. If you destroyed a Google data center you'd probably be charged as a terrorist and spend decades in prison, but Google can destroy the natural world around you and get off with a finger wag and a symbolic fine. If you stole millions of dollars from your employer you'd go to prison for grand larceny, but if your employer steals millions from its employees you need to win a class action lawsuit to get back what they stole from you. Proponents of capitalism often pretend they support minimal government intervention in civilian affairs, but their entire model is at all times propped up by state power using force to protect the haves from the have-nots at every level of our society. Corporations are free to destroy the environment, destroy your health, rob you, exploit you, and manipulate your government to their advantage, and if you ever take action to stand up to this world-devouring onslaught, the state will lock you in a cage. In school we are taught that that the law exists to protect ordinary people from bad people, but that's not true at all. Under capitalism, the law exists to protect the very worst among us from everyone else. That's why we are seeing our planet being turned into dust and ashes for no reason other than shareholder profit. It's an insane system, and it needs to end. These freaks are feeding our entire biosphere into the woodchipper.

This is not Gaza. This is Hebron today. The Israeli occupation has begun destroying Palestine’s economic capital, a city that accounts for 75% of the country’s production in the stone and marble, leather and footwear, plastics, glass, oils, dairy, and gold industries. Ethnic cleansing is being inflicted on the Palestinian people everywhere across the land of Palestine.

This shows why it's so important for cyclists to wear hi-vis. Completely invisible without it. Good reaction by the driver to spot them in time and give them plenty of room. Terrible close pass by the following driver though.
A trained and licensed motorist perfectly demonstrates how to overtake a cyclist

This was always going to happen. It was never about Hamas or hostages or Oct 7th. It was always about total domination of Palestine. Every single leader in the world knew this. They all let it happen. And it won't stop. Lebanon and Syria are next. They'll let it happen 🤬
