An @ATFLouisville-led 60-day summer initiative in Louisville led to the arrest of nearly 50 violent offenders who collectively have over 200 prior felony convictions, including multiple prior homicide convictions. The initiative seized 160 firearms from Louisville’s streets, including 42 machinegun conversion devices, and 10 kilograms of illegal drugs. Gang members, gun traffickers, and others driving violence in high crime neighborhoods were the targets of the operation, part of Operation Take Back America. Partners included @WDKYnews, @JeffCoAttyKY, @LMPD, @dealouisville, @USMarshalsHQ, @kyoag, @kystatepolice, @JeffersontownPD, @PoliceShively, @WeAreLMDC, and the Oldham County Department of Corrections. “I am proud of the men and women of ATF’s Louisville Field Division and our federal and local law enforcement partners for all they accomplished in such a short period of time,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge John Nokes. “By targeting individuals responsible for driving the violence in our communities, we are sending a clear message that those who threaten our neighborhoods will be held accountable.
