Nouveau jour, nouvelle taxe.

Last Friday was a busy one:

Holding your #bitcoin keys? Congrats. Youâre also holding a target. đŻ
#Crypto crime has officially spilled offlineâkidnappings, wrench attacks, home invasions. Self-custody isnât just about seed phrases anymore. Itâs about physical security, multisig, and knowing when NOT to brag on Twitter.
In my latest piece for @Forbes , I dig into how crypto holders are upgrading their securityâand why the old playbook doesnât cut it when the threat shows up at your front door.

#Circle's IPO has gone tremendously well â much better than Coinbase's market debut in April 2021.
Bigger size aside (Circle's targeted valuation of $7.2 bn vs Coinbase's 1-day closure valuation of $85 bn), the price performance per share was eye-watering.
đ With an IPO price of $31, #CRCL opened at $69, hit an intraday high of $103 (+232%), and closed at $83 (+167%).
đ In #Coinbase's case, it was $250, $381, $430 (+72%), $328 (+31%). For context, the #COIN now trades at $244.
Circle's business may seem easy: issue stablecoins, invest the reserves in Treasuries, and earn risk-free yield while users essentially lend their dollars interest-free. But the reality is more interesting.
I unpacked the mechanics, threats, and possibilities in my latest for @Forbesđ

Sunday. Christian holiday before Easter. Barbaric brutal murder of civilians in Sumy.
Russians did it intentionally.
But never mind, @SteveWitkoff will thank Putin again and lick his bloody hands.
To sum up Trumpâs crypto executive order from yesterday:
- The Strategic #Bitcoin Reserve will include BTC already held by the government;
- The Treasury and Commerce Secretaries must devise budget-neutral strategies to acquire more government BTC without extra costs to taxpayers;
- A Digital Asset Stockpile will hold other cryptoassets;
- The US government wonât acquire more Stockpile Assets.
Looks like someone explained to him the difference between Bitcoin and other cryptosđ
Back in January, I wrote an article for @Cointelegraph pointing out the #Bitcoin CME futures gap between $77,900 and $80,000.
It looks like the gap-filling time has come, and I take it as an opportunity đ

Ohh just wait, there's much more to come in 2025.
And good news: it won't necessarily imply #bitcoin slowing down đ

It's easy to simply dismiss #Dogecoin đ¶ for being a frivolous fad.

Donald Trump has just given a speech at #Bitcoin2024 conference.
This is a historic event, not to mention the importance it holds for the BTC market, so here's a quick recap of his statements and promises
- "Drill baby, drill": I will give you plenty of electricity for your miners
- fire Gary Gensler [by far the most cheered on đ]
- appoint #Bitcoin advisory council that will help produce a crypto regulation in 100 days
- no to CBDC
- right to crypto self-custody
- Bitcoin is not threatening the dollar, the behavior of the current administration is threatening the dollar
- keep 100% of all #BTC the US government now holds as a strategic national stockpile [213k BTC currently]
- commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the Silk Road darknet marketplace
All this is to be taken with a grain of salt, of course. Mr Trump is known for speaking too much, and he is yet to affront a Democratic nominee.
However, the more these points are stated and debated, the more they solidify their presence in the US media space.
They gain credibility, and this gives hope for the US crypto future, whoever wins in November.
Tomorrow, Donald Trump đ is set to speak at the #Bitcoin2024 conference in Nashville.
A presidential nominee at a #crypto conference is already remarkable in itself. However, the rumors surrounding this event are even more astonishing.
Since @Dennis_Porter_ leaked the news about Trumpâs âgroundbreaking announcementâ last week, the crypto space has been bracing itself. Citing âcredible sourcesâ, the Bitcoin advocate claimed that Trump would announce a âUSA Bitcoin Strategic Reserveâ.
What's more, @SenLummis is now rumored to work on the corresponding Bill to be introduced to the Senate soon.
What?! đ€Ż
Even the most optimistic bitcoiners wouldnât dare to dream that big đ«Ł. Yet, this rumor quickly gained traction after being picked up by CNBC and Fox, making this idea seem like an intriguing possibility.
Whatâs more, looking closely from Trumpâs campaign standpoint, the idea might not be as far-fetched as it seems.
Trumpâs âAgenda 47â includes several economically contradictory points. For example, while aiming to end inflation, it also proposes a number of pro-inflationary policies: maintaining social security as is, increasing law enforcement spending, more tariffs on imports⊠With the dollar currently strong, these policies might fail to help raise the buying power of his main support base in the industrial heartland.
However, with a weaker dollar đ” to boost exports, this might be possible.
One way to weaken the USD is to sell it on the open market đž, preferably not against the currency of one of the US trading partners (their currency would strengthen, making imports pricier).
In this situation, gold is one choice, and Bitcoin is another. While gold is already part of the US foreign reserves, #BTC could become a new tool in the monetary toolbox. Furthermore, if the US starts buying Bitcoin, it could encourage other nations to follow suit, boosting Bitcoin's valueâŠ
âŠwhich would be great news for the US economy, since its #Bitcoin mining âïž industry is already the worldâs largest. Additionally, with the massive scaling of oil extraction (also part of Agenda 47), Bitcoin miners will have even more opportunities to mine using flared gas, oilâs by-product.
Finally, this could all make sense, and even if the âUSA Bitcoin reserveâ rumor might remain just thatâa rumorâ the idea has been planted.
No matter who wins the election đ
