Fabulous Memorial Service for a wonderful man. Well done to everyone involved @Everton
On World Cup quarter-final day, pick your best uncapped Everton side: I know I will have missed some crackers but here’s mine off the top of my head - Rankin, Hibbert, Bailey, Kenyon, Mountfield, Kendall, Arteta, King, Heath, Campbell, Morrisey.
By the way, of those 14 games the legendary XI started together, they won 12, drew one and lost one (the FA Cup final). They started 7 league games together, 5 FA Cup ties (including Telford United!) and 2 in the ECWC.
The legendary XI of ‘Southall, Stevens, van den Hauwe, Ratcliffe, Mountfield, Reid, Steven, Gray, Sharp, Bracewell, Sheedy’ started a game for the very first time on this date in 1984. Amazingly, that famous eleven players only ever started 14 games together for Everton!
Lovely to surprise Roger Kenyon with his 1969/70 League Championship medal at the @EFCFPF Christmas Lunch. Presented to him by his great pal Joe Royle
Last week, the Olympic Stadium in Sydney. Today, Liberty Way, Nuneaton, for Birmingham City U21 v Everton U21.
What a finish at Goodison tonight! @Everton Under 21s beat Mansfield in the Papa John’s with two added time goals from @liamhiggins_ and @tomcannon_ . Incredible spirit from the young lads!
Absolutely fantastic @Everton turn out yet again. This time pre-match in the Commercial Hotel in Parramatta. Everyone having a great time!
It’s been fantastic to have the company of Gary Stevens in Sydney. Check the website for his amazing charity that helps bereaved families foreverfour.com.au. They need all the help they can get and I have been blown away by the incredible generosity of the fans over here…
Join me and Graham Stuart on the Everton YouTube channel from mid day. U21 v Southampton at Walton Hall Park
50 years ago today, Rod Belfitt scored his first Everton goal - against Man City at Goodison. In the Blues previous home game, Belfitt had scored for Ipswich, a unique occurrence? Anyone see him play?
Joe Blythe did it at Goodison Park in January 1900 and Matthew Pennington did it at Anfield in April 2017. No other player in Everton history has done it. Have a listen to our latest ‘Bred a Blue’ podcast with @mpennington94 here... evertonfc.com/news/2897680/b…
52 years ago today, Everton won the first ever European Cup penalty shoot-out. Not everybody knew the rules and when the German keeper saved Joe Royle’s first penalty, he thought they were through! youtube.com/watch?v=o-9NVX6C…
20 years ago today!! (He’d only been on the pitch 5 minutes…and it was exactly 12 months to the day after Paul Gascoigne had scored his one and only Everton goal). Who had this as their screen-saver, who was at Elland Road that night – and is anyone on the photo!
ON THIS DAY in 1997, Dave Watson and Neville Southall started an Everton game together for the 440th and final time – still a club record for any pair of players. We lost 2-0 at Goodison v Southampton! They first started together against Newcastle in a 1986 Full Members Cup tie.
An absolute pleasure to host the Everton Disability Football Awards tonight and great to see my mate @EfcMoll. Every single player is a credit to the football club…as are the coaches.
Congratulations @CalvertLewin14 on scoring the 1,500th @everton Premier League goal. Barry Horne netted the first one past Chris Woods in August 1992.
Big game tomorrow for the Blues...but nowhere near as big as when Palace came to Goodison back in May...! All the stress and emotion of the previous few months came pouring out during the last minute-and-a-half!
The Winter Wonderland returns to the Blue Base on Saturday 10th December (4pm-11pm). Canapes, live music, DJ, raffles and plenty of Christmas spirit!
