In Flesh: a Horror Novel - Available Now for Kindle, Kindle Unlimited and in Paperback. I started this novel in 2017 and kept pushing it aside to finish other stories. But this one kept itching at me, and it feels good to have my first standalone novel out there in the world.

I'm trying to stay positive and find the good aspects about daylight saving time. But seeing the sun going down in the middle of the afternoon is sure making it difficult. #DaylightSaving

Reposting these for the 1 year anniversary of Everybody Scream. It had been a very, very long time since a movie, game, book, or album inspired me to start illustrating again. #florenceandthemachine #fatm #everybodyscream #florencewelch

Writers, stop getting bogged down in criticisms. 99.9% of "constructive critiques" have absolutely nothing to do with construction. If someone is proposing an issue with your story, without proposing a fix, then their constructive critique is nothing more than a complaint.

It's an odd thing to say, but I think every horror fan has their favorite zombie. Here are three of mine. I kept the limit to one per movie. And while #3 may be unconventional, I still consider him a zombie. #zombies #horrormovies #spookyseason #moviemonsters

Pumpkin carving 2026. Ghostface (carved by me, painted by my son) and a silly sugar skull. #halloween #pumpkincarving

The inherit issue with documentaries is that they are always made with a point of view. This instantly sways how much "truth" can be exposed. I've always enjoyed docs, but it's often too obvious when a doc is trying to convince you, rather than inform you.

I'm going to make a wildly broad, sweeping generalization: Do writers need to worry about Ai? Novelists - no. Screenwriters - yes.

I have to imagine that if Crystal Lake does well enough, by this time next year, we're going to have a Springwood Slasher series. The tagline will be: Before the Nightmare, there was... The Springwood Slasher. Cue Freddy laugh. #CrystalLake

"Locals say he haunts the forest at night, his putrid green skin glistening under the moonlight. One look is all it takes. Stare into his pale eyes, and you will become as diseased as he is." In Flesh, out now for Kindle and in Paperback, free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers.

I enjoyed Janelle Schiecke's (@J_Schiecke) book Spider, so I wanted to give this one a try. It's always fun to read a book that starts with the story going 100mph. Like Spider, this one is already feeling like a lost episode of Tales from the Crypt. #currentlyreading

Writers, stop treating short fiction as a means to something bigger and better. Treat short stories like you would a novel. For many readers, your short stories will be their first exposure to you. #writingcommunity

An interesting development: in the advent of high quality Ai images and video, I've received about 90% less solicitations from "book marketers" offering services for book trailers and other nonsense. Seems like Ai tech is inadvertently cutting off their business.

Often, the best way to begin a day of writing is to just start typing anything. Bad story ideas are great because they're quick to write, easy to write, and they can frequently help clarify a concept that doesn't work while clearing the fog in your mind. #writingcommunity

I often wonder what happened to horror movie slashers and why everything post Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers and Leatherface all feel like they're just various riffs on Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers and Leatherface.

A word of advice for writers: if you choose to write under a different name (which may be necessary to seperate yourself from other writers), avoid special characters in your name. It's a headache that does nothing but confuse Amazon's algorithm.
