Could they be any cuter? Look at the size of this 3-day-old quail. Look at its head in reference to my thumbnail. SO TINY!
Look at those pretty sheep feet .
That's what we like to see, short hooves nicely spaced. It's been over a year since she's been trimmed.
Hey cattle people! I need your input.
Just had a guy pick up one of my milk cows I sold with a fifth wheel hitch, tandem wheel stock trailer. The tires on the back were more than half flat. The front ones were down by 30% or so. I mentioned it and offered to fill them, but he said no it's easier to haul cattle with soft tires so the trailer doesn't bounce.
I'm looking at him like he's an alien. Why would you do that to your tires? Is that really a thing? Is there something I'm missing?
I understand 15 to 20 lb under for that reason. But these were 110 PSI tires, and they were lucky if they had 40 lb in them.
(Serious muffin top vibes)
I insisted and put 20 lbs in the back ones. The last thing I need is to have a blowout on a trailer with a $2,000 cow I just sold.
Thoughts?
Brand new plant nursery just opened so I thought I would take a look.
$50 for pampas grass in a 3 gallon pot.
Bye-bye. Have a nice day.
Time to start profiling artisans like this for the Christmas season. I already know where I'm getting my soaps, honey, candles, and pottery from. It's not hard to guess 😂
I have a serious question for all of you. When you work your behind off all day in the sun, your muscles hurt and you are exhausted, why does a cold beer make you feel so much better? Water doesn't cut it. Iced tea and lemonade, meh. But drink one cold beer and the world is right again. 🤷♀️
This is a wonderful post. I love people highlighting things made in the usa. Now, how many of you right here on this platform make wooden spoons? Because I will 100% buy one. Or 10.
Dirt.
Sunday is the only day I do not sweep and mop. Living in the country, especially with dogs, it is a daily chore. This is what happens when you skip a day.
Now, imagine that in your carpet. Just like every other industry, "Big Carpet" made a push 50 years ago to have every floor in your house covered with shag. It's insulating! Cried the headlines. It's noise reducing! Claimed the experts. No more scuffed floors and cold feet! Shouted the housewives.
Then, suddenly, everyone developed asthma. Upper respiratory infections and sinus medications became normal conversation. The doctors blamed it on the change of seasons. I'll let you decide.
For 14 years I have lived with the world's ugliest light pink carpet. It was here when we bought the house. Most of it has been ripped out because I prefer to live on a painted subfloor rather than a bacteria filled allergen hoarder. We still have two bedrooms to go, and yes, disgustingly, one bathroom.
Slowly, this home will have the beautiful hardwood floors it was meant to have. They will get scuffed, scratched, and dust will settle in the cracks over the next 20 years. And yes, I will be on my hands and knees scrubbing it out. But you know what else? I will know my floor is clean.
Bringing my favorite meat processor a couple bags of dehydrated liver. He is so good to me and to my puppies, so I like to return the favor.
Yes!

Arizona was great for this. Type C soil drains wonderfully and it doesn't stay mucky. After several years you dig out the top and replace it with fresh sand which gives them lots of grit for their craw and gives you some beautiful mulch. Never had to pay for sand.
When I went to sand 10 years ago in my hen houses, I never looked back. All of the fancy products online cannot do what simple contractors sand can. Hypoallergenic. Dust free. No odor. Absorbs moisture. Easy to clean. Affordable.
