Commissum Divinitus, Pope Gregory XVI: "[T]he Church has, by its divine institution, the power of the magisterium to teach and define matters of faith and morals and to interpret the Holy Scriptures without danger of [pernicious] error."

I am speechless. Thomas Aquinas College just dropped a study on the rigor of the new SAT. It compares the 1980/87 test with 2026. The findings should terrify every parent and teacher... Vocabulary has collapsed. Old SAT: 70.6% of questions tested vocab. New SAT: 15%. The old test forced students to know a wide range of words through analogies, antonyms, and sentence completions. The new test abandoned that. Most vocab questions now just ask students to fill in one blank from context. Reading passages also got radically shorter (average ~97 words vs 300–340). The new test uses short expository passages and hands you the necessary background knowledge inside the text. The older tests leaned much more heavily on argumentative and persuasive writing, assumed far more historical, scientific, and cultural knowledge, and penalized students who lacked it. This is a redefinition of what "college readiness" means. If you believe that kids should develop rigorous vocabulary, be capable of sustained reading, and possess background knowledge, I have bad news for you. The SAT no longer measures these. If you want a future where children can actually read difficult texts and construct complex arguments, the SAT must be replaced now. This cannot go on.
We were concerned that the SAT has become a less reliable measure of student preparedness for a rigorous college curriculum. So, we commissioned a study from Johns Hopkins University. What does this study tell us about the state of higher education? The results are shocking. thaq.co/4iLThZ0

“An openly pro Hitler editor.” This is false and objectively calumny. Kevin Davis (@CathFamPodcast) now has the duty to *publicly* apologize *and* alert all his followers of my actual views on National Socialism, both now and then. He also does not appear to even have the decency to read my official retraction in July, explaining my original position which was NOT adhering to doctrinaire National Socialism. americanreform.substack.com/…

In his latest video attempting to justify the rupture of Francis on the death penalty, Trent Horn shamefully repeats the official teaching of Leo XIV on slavery and its institution. In Magnificas Humanitas, Leo lamented it took eighteen centuries for the Church to issue a “formal, absolute and universal condemnation of slavery,” which for him, “constitutes a wound in the Christian memory.” While it is true Pope Leo XIII called for the universal manumission of all slaves in his 1888 In Plurimus, obliging all Christians to commit themselves to this noble effort (slavery is, after all, contrary to the first intention of nature), it is simply not true that he formally and absolutely condemned slavery — without qualification — as such. Indeed it would be impossible, for as Bousset says it would be “to condemn the Holy Spirit, who by the mouth of St. Paul orders slavers to remain in their state.” Keeping with the spirit of capitulation embodied by John Paul II, Leo then said: “In the name of the Church, I sincerely ask for pardon.” Right when this encyclical came out, I analyzed this doctrinal error for @IntegritasMag which can be seen below.

I find the St. Eusebius example interesting in the context of consecrating bishops without papal mandate. It would be worth researching that bishops are able to be consecrated without papal mandate AND able to act as shepherds with a flock.

It has not been demonstrated that Traditionalist Bishops have ordinary jurisdiction but it is demonstrated that Traditionalists are doing things belonging to the external forum and that epikeia is the underlying justification for these acts.

Fun fact, Congress once passed a law that any American woman would lose her citizenship upon marriage to a foreign man I'm sure this is entirely offensive to modern feminist sensitivities, but it doesn't seem too out of line with scripture or historic western culture

He’s been married to an American citizen, has been for four years. That should be automatic citizenship with your marriage license! That is bullcrap! @DonJBacon
