Following the retirement of HS Themistocles in March 2026, a second 🇬🇷 Hellenic Navy Elli-class (Kortenaer) frigate, HS Kanaris (F464), is being retired as another Kimon-class (FDI HN) frigate is set to arrive in Greece in the coming days. HS Kanaris (2002–2026) previously served with the 🇳🇱 Royal Netherlands Navy as HNLMS Peter van Brakel (F826). The 11th Kortenaer-class frigate, she was commissioned in 1983.
