Journal Entry – Crossing I stepped through the portal. The light folded around me like wet silk. For a moment there was only that familiar nothing, the place between places where my shape is still deciding what it wants to be. I let out a sigh of relief when my feet found solid ground again and my lungs found breathable air. You wouldn't believe the number of worlds I've visited where they were underwater, in the sky, or somehow both. I like being on reliable solid earth. Looking down at my body, I could see I resembled a humanoid again. I stood there blinking in the sunlight as the portal to the main hall closed behind me. Soft green blades brushed my ankles, whispering under a wide, open sky the that seemed to be the same blue as Earth. Though I don't think I am back on Earth. Rolling hills rose and fell in every direction, some crowned with dark trees, others left bare and golden under the sun. A faint dirt path wandered off to my left, disappearing into a dip between two slopes. In the far distance a shape broke the horizon—something tall and pale, towers maybe? Or just a trick of the light against the mountains that ringed the entire field like sleeping giants. I took one careful step. Then another. My new body obeyed, I have been a dragonborn for so long I had forgotten what being a humanoid felt like. I see a settlement near by. I will stop in and speak to some locals and see if anyone has any information. I will keep you all updated.
