Someone’s had a busy night, no votes and Keir hasn’t left until 21:45 locked in talks with MPs.

What do you reckon is happening here then?

How’s that working out?

The selections for Labour candidates needs to be more democratic and we should end NEC impositions of candidates. Local Party members should select their candidates for every election.

This is from a few years ago. Does @warkspolice still have this “Secret Protocol”. Bit of a concern that this can happen so openly without scrutiny.

When powerful media owners get two meetings in a year and victims get none, priorities are clear! The PM has met Lachlan Murdoch twice in the last 12 months. Over 30 victims wrote to the PM requesting a meeting and still nothing. PM, we want to meet with you. Letter to PM below … hackedoff.org/blog-posts/30-…

Here more for the commentary than anything else really …
BULLDOZER RAMPAGE / WOLVERHAMPTON/UK Police Pursuit this evening in Wolverhampton. Attempts were made (unsuccessfully) to block with a Royal Mail HGV. Driver (a construction worker) was later arrested.

Never mind “calling for an inquiry”. Your party actually scrapped Part 2 of the Leveson Public Inquiry saying “yeah everything is good now and we don’t need it”.
Never forget, this is the woman who said that calling for a Grooming Gangs Inquiry was a “dogwhistle”. Now she’s the Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. It’s shameful, and a testament to the total weakness of Keir Starmer.

In Liverpool putting pressure on @UKLabour specifically @Keir_Starmer to meet with victims of press abuse. Why does he not want to engage? Thanks to @38degrees for organising a petition you.38degrees.org.uk/petitio… With @hackinginquiry @HackedOffHugh @PeterStefanovi2 @jacquihames

#TheHack aired last night on @ITV and is now on @ITVX. Will it spark the kind of blanket press + political reaction we saw when Mr Bates vs The Post Office aired—front pages, op-eds, follow-ups? How many papers will cover it today, in print or online?

@hackinginquiry I’d love to see the stats :)

Tonight at 9pm on ITV, a story very close to my heart hits our screens. The Hack is a powerful new drama about the phone-hacking scandal that ultimately forced the closure of News of the World. It’s brought to you by the same award-winning team behind Mr Bates vs the Post Office, which exposed how sub-postmasters were wrongly jailed after a flawed IT system. This subject isn’t just history to me—it’s personal. I was one of those whose phone was hacked by News of the World, and I know first-hand the damage press intrusion can cause. My hope is that this drama will finally spark the action we’ve been waiting for: real, effective regulation after years of government inaction. The seven-part series starts tonight at 9pm, and if you’d rather dive straight in, every episode is already available to stream on ITVX. You can find out more here: itv.com/watch/the-hack/10a32…

The eroding of fire services continues silently unless FBU post stories like this. Fire services across the country are at crisis point.
We are facing a funding crisis in Leicestershire. Residents of Leicester City, please be extra vigilant as due to crewing issues 1 of the fire engines out of our Central Station is off the run today. We are calling for sustained investment to fund our Fire and Rescue Service.

Anyone know how many accidents the TFL ERUs been involved in? I remember these vehicles couldn’t get to the incidents on 7/7 and the common sense approach to using blue light drivers being introduced. Now removed under a “risk averse” strategy. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clyl…
