Your house vs. the stock market, 40 years of data (WSJ):
S&P 500: 7.57%/yr
Seattle (best metro): 6.22%
Dallas: 4.22%
Houston: 4.04%
My wife and I bought less house than we could afford and maxed our 401(k)s. No regrets.
A house is a home, not always an investment.

Great quote from John Madden. Pretty timely considering the election results this week. Great book! Get a copy
2023: I ask if you can survive 5 days without power, water, phones & internet. People call me paranoid.
2026: 🇬🇧 tells households to stock up for 3 days. The Pentagon plans for 90 days off-grid.

Every @dallascowboys fan needs to read this book from Peter King
Let's go @DallasStars!
I would encourage everyone to get a copy of this phenomenal book from @junior_miller.
Also, don't forget that Jerry gave money to @KenPaxtonTX
Vote @jamestalarico!
Work has never been more connected, or lonelier.
@JohnUChicago & @RachlinSeth join me live to talk "Social Capital at Work", why relationships are an asset, and why AI’s real risk is substitution rather than replacement.

100% agree - we need competition in not only business but government as well
Q: Are you the one who’s going to turn Texas blue?
@JamesTalarico: I’m not interested in turning Texas blue. I wanna win this seat so that I can fight for all 31 million Texans — whether they’re Democrats, independents, or Republicans.
My party talks about turning Texas blue a lot. Republicans talk about keeping Texas red. I think the best color for Texas is purple.
When you have a purple state and competitive elections, it forces every politician in both parties to stay on their toes. My hope in this race is that we can end 30 years of one-party rule and get competitive elections back in Texas so politicians are actually solving problems.
The bid was $14,621. The final bill was $26,025.92. Same garage. New edition of "Risk, et al..." on why every project, from hospitals to home renos, needs a contingency.
Plus, a review of “You Can See Everything.”

$44 million! Holy cow that's a lot of money.
I'm sorry but call this what it is. This is gambling pure and simple.
For the record, I've got money on @jamestalarico. Nothing serious, enough for a nice dinner to celebrate with my wife once he wins!
Just posted my take on the @lucasmuseum in LA! 🎬 Enjoyed it so much that one video wasn’t enough, so I made two. A must-visit on any LA itinerary.

Further proof you really need to be careful about taking financial advice on this platform. I did all of these things below and my net worth puts me in the top 10% in the US.
🍺 True Blonde Ale from @skabrewing (Durango, CO)
Grabbed this can in Durango and cracked it open in my #Dallas backyard. Clear gold pour, touch of honey sweetness, crisp clean finish. SKA’s first recipe from 1995, and it still holds up.

Early voting started here in #Texas this week and I just cast my votes. Grateful for the opportunity to vote for some outstanding candidates like @jamestalarico , @Burge4Congress , @Jon_RosenthalTX , and @GinaHinojosaTX to name a few.
Regardless of your political affiliations, make sure to vote so your voice is heard.
Rather than watch the @dallascowboys sh@t the bed again, I’m spending my time watching @KaceyMusgraves in #LA tonight. Feel free to borrow a copy of my book from @junior_miller
Going out on a limb here, but I truly believe @PeteHegseth is really incompetent
Within the administration, there was immediate and “pretty universal revulsion” about the livestream plan. By late last week, even the president’s inner circle was making its distaste clear. Vance barely hid his disgust.
