I disagree. I think we oversimplify the REALITIES of Black Americans. Having “access to opportunities” doesn’t necessarily mean having the resources, SUPPORT, or means to take advantage of them (for example a kid like me). Also considering there are still many barriers in place. Just because we live in America doesn’t mean we have it easier or that having more access is somehow what holds us back. There’s a lot more to our experiences than that, & I think that argument ignores a lot of what Black Americans are still fighting to overcome (interpersonally).
