Asked if he had any more clairty on the severity of Aaron Judge's strain, Aaron Boone said he didn't and "it doesn't matter what grade it is. We're at nine games left."

Some thoughts:
1. The Yankees, as expected, are essentially giving us ZERO information about Judge’s injury. We don’t know the grade of calf strain or anything at all really. No timetable, etc. You are well within your rights to be pessimistic about that. What I will say is they would be secretive about the injury no matter the severity.
Ever since Judge’s broken wrist in 2018, when they said he’d be back way sooner than what ended up happening, they’ve been very closed off with injury timetables regarding him. The whole thing is odd and I acknowledge that. It’s actually pissing me off too.
2. If Judge is merely capable of standing I fully expect him to be playing against Boston in the Wild Card series. Probably the first time I’ll ever use the “what would Mickey Mantle do?” line.
3. The only reason I’d be saying “season’s over” like many are doing is to lower my expectations so I’m not disappointed. Not doing that. I have massive expectations. And if they don’t happen I will react accordingly when the time comes
Bottom line: World Series or bust still. End of story
If Judge is merely capable of standing I expect him to be playing in the Wild Card series against Boston. End of story
Season's not over. Judge will be back (one way or another). Rest of the team is really good. Wild Card series scares me by default. That's it's own thing. One day a time. Go Yanks

Neither Aaron Judge nor Aaron Boone elaborated on what part of the body Judge hurt. Judge said he first felt something while playing the field in the first, but he couldn’t pinpoint a particular play.
Asked if he'll get testing, Judge said, “This just happened. I have no idea, so I've got no answer for you. But I'd say probably not.” He compared this to the types of issues that pop up at the start of spring training when ramping up. #Yankees
Aaron Boone said he was made aware of Aaron Judge's lower leg issue just before he came out (Boone noticed Judge hobbling in RF in the 5th). Judge said he first felt something in the first inning today.
Judge is getting treatment. TBD on testing. With an off day tomorrow, the #Yankees will see how he responds.
