Well
Initially planned to buy back a smaller position. But there's only so much $ you can put on the SP500/gold for your retirement before it becomes marginally irrelevant
How do you allocate when you already have everything?
You just push forward with your best idea.
And my best idea is still $ZEC. By a wide margin. Honestly, I struggle to comprehend how the whole market is not reaching the same conclusion yet. And this is where the alpha lies i guess
People have been conditioned for a decade to believe that "you don't compete with Bitcoin". You leave Bitcoin alone, as a special snowflake, and you build other "blockchain" things aside (Defi, L1s, NFTs, launchpads, RWAs, Perps...). And rightfully so. Everyone who tried by the past got burnt hard. You only need 1 digital SoV. One chair if you will
What if this time is different? The leap of faith going from analog SoVs like Gold to Bitcoin was a phenomenal tour de force. What would it take to leap from $BTC to $ZEC? Lindy wise, what is a 7 year difference in the grand scheme of things? Is ossification still a moat in the age of AI and quantum? Isn't privacy worth a shot in a world of govs overreach?
Do you think you'll have many more chances at buying the next Bitcoin in the future? And if you discount everything I said by 90%, isn't 10% of Bitcoin's value a target worth betting on?
It's time to dream again

92% of smart money traders on HL ($1m+ realized pnl) are long $ZEC
Do with that information what you will

Easiest swing trade
Security risks (AI-driven hacks, mathematical breakthroughs & quantum computing) have become increasingly concerning in recent weeks both personally & for the broader market.
$ZEC looks like the best way to play this, and the market is already showing us that with clear divergence vs BTC/ETH/SOL/HYPE/TOTAL3ES over the past couple weeks.
Additionally, short-term spot & derivatives positioning looks significantly cleaner vs earlier this month. ETF flows have just flipped positive again after ~3 weeks of outflows, while coin-denominated OI is at its lowest level since August.
Separately, OTC desks are still seeing strong interest from liquid & VC funds, with ZEC reportedly remaining one of the most bought altcoins by funds even at these elevated prices.
I generally view protocol upgrades as weak catalysts in isolation, but the January upgrade feels different. Tachyon addresses the scalability improvements the community has been waiting for, while the quantum component of the upgrade addresses one of the highest mindshare risks to the industry. Together, I think they make for a much stronger catalyst than either would on its own.
I havenβt looked too deeply into the underlying tech or whether the proposed upgrades will actually deliver meaningful quantum resistance, and I donβt care to. When all the tastemakers (Naval, Balaji, a16z, Paradigm, Dragonfly & Multicoin) are pushing the ZEC narrative as a hedge against BTC, the realities of what itβs tech can or canβt actually do arenβt part of the thesis.
The combination of improving positioning, continued institutional demand, relative strength & an increasingly powerful narrative makes for an attractive setup, even in shaky market conditions. I expect my conviction to continue building as we approach January.
I have no strong view on market direction over the coming months, and the quantum tailwind for ZEC is a headwind for BTC, so Iβm hedged vs BTC on a vol-adjusted basis, but think a naked long is also justified.
Quantum is the crypto equivalent of cancer and ZEC is the cure. Donβt find yourself Zidelined on the road past $2k

People look at you like youβre a madman if you say weβre in a bull market, meanwhile the weekly and monthly charts both look like tiny dips in a recent uptrend, and we just got hit by a behemoth amount of FUD.
Yeah, bears are literally braindead.
Much higher by EOY.

It will be hilariously obvious in hindsight when we leg up again
More signs with doom and gloom than at the 60k levels
He posted for selfish reasons to aura farm if he was right
He was wrong, people capitulated because they hold his opinion in high regard for whatever reason
All of which lost money
Deserves the hate imo
the flood thing is a great example of why every KOL just sticks to relentless bull-posting instead of ever being bearish
if you are bullish and wrong no one cares if you're bearish and even partly wrong you get publicly lynched
i do think he went a bit too deep with the doomer posting but this general attitude is what makes many accounts never post about selling, which leads to a lot of ppl getting rinsed
ill tell you guys when i sell, but you'll probably hate me for it

Replying to @degenroot
A few things worth saying plainly:
Validators share revenue with delegators, sometimes through private deals on income that should go to the operator alone. Ethereum has the same thing.
Validators compete for delegators. There's a market for stake, and it runs on bids.
So it's safe to assume the extra revenue from this activity ends up with institutional delegators, whether they know it or not. I want to make that not knowing impossible. Stake should follow the best revenue and clean on-chain behaviour, not revenue alone. Otherwise everyone ends up running @defidevcorp style slot lagging, plus whatever else squeezes out the last bit of yield.
As the article shows, this is happening on large nodes, @coinbase among them, which hold institutional stake.
This can't be policed at the protocol level, and nobody claims it can. But @SolanaFndn has a role here, not quietly backing these builders, and applying social pressure on them to stop.
Tokenized equities now trade on @solana. If a retail order in an on chain stock gets sandwiched inside a single builder's blocks, it's the kind of thing a regulator will ask about.
Serious wall street activity won't move on chain until we resolve this. It's better to work this out now.

Imagine how fast a dude would turn the back on a friend for money, his word is worth a 500k position. Not a loss a 500k Position
