this is incredible - I understand it to be fair - but this is the opposite of NIMBYism. Yes In My BackYard but nowhere else.
I mean why do these farmers care how many migrants live in the cities. It's incredible

Scoop - this could save the Australian govt millions in resources. Just in case Jillian Segal, Albo, et al were wondering where the rise in anti-lsrael sentiment is coming from.
It's not caused by the ABC or SBS or progressives or anybody else.
It's driven by lsrael itself.

As a British citizen please let me explain.
It's because the vast majority of Brits aren't fascist cunts.
I don't understand why the Brits are not flooding the street in protest of @TRobinsonNewEra political percussion.
It is clear, that the political establishment in the UK is hellbent on locking him up for his political views.
It doesn't matter if you support him or not. Democracies die when different views are suppressed. You will be next.

I've been reading through this, which was released today, and let me tell you - it is a hot mess.
Jillian Segal (well let's face it, the taxpayer-funded team who work for her) has delivered a line of limited thinking that aims to insert itself into every aspect of Australian life - with no peer review, or any form of independent assessment. We are expected to simply take the Antisemitism Envoy at their word and shut up.
As usual, it presents as a wandering discourse of unevidenced claims, taking particular aim at the increasing dissatisfaction with Israel by most of the western world and hiding it within the cloak of 'antisemitism' - a word tossed about freely throughout the document, a word that underwrites the document and all it's radical thought-policing, but a word that they fail to provide with any concrete definition or cohesive meaning.

Sir Ian McKellen pays tribute to the late Patrick Stewart:
โBefore everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren't in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. โBut Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk-getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?".
Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London's West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.โ

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admirationย for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.
