Q. How do you view what jobs are scheduled with systemd? A. systemctl list-timers --all
4
When creating a systemd service/timer, make sure to do: systemctl daemon-reload ...after making changes to a service or timer config. Maybe it isn't necessary, but a systemctl restart of the service and timer wouldn't hurt.
7
Yes, use systemd to run jobs rather than cron. Create two files in /etc/systemd/system. <filename>.service will execute the job. <filename>.timer will execute the schedule and trigger the service based on the schedule defined.

While cron is old and simple, systemd timers are consider best practice for an enterprise environment. You'll need two files. 1. a service file 2. a timer file

Such as linux-rt-lts which provides a low-latency real-time kernel that's great for audio processing, industrial control systems, and embedded systems. Here's a Gemini link that provides more detail: share.google/aimode/1F3zKrYP…

Q. Is a server resolving a host to the wrong IP? A. Use getent to determine why. Possible issue may be your nsswitch.conf hosts setting. The hosts database order of values are important and need to be considered when troubleshooting.

For my friends who are still using UV and might be a little weary about recent compromises to PyPi packages, stick this in your pyproject.toml. You can let all of those pip users find and report the compromises...

In case you missed it, the AWS EC2 instances and volumes console have a feature where you can save and recall your filters. The filters are tied to your login, so everyone on your team can have their own filter sets.
