Excellent collaborative work by the North Tryon Division with The Queen City Safe initiative and Operation Nite Shade. #clt #ncpol #publicsafety #danteanderson4charlotte #amoreprecisevision4clt
Focusing in our North Tryon Division this past weekend, our Queen City Safe initiative successfully removed illegally possessed firearms, curtailed open‑air narcotics activity, and addressed individuals contributing to violent crime. Partnered with the ALE, Mecklenburg County ABC, the DJJ and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, our officers and specialized units concentrated on targeted areas identified through crime data and community feedback as having a significant impact on public safety and quality of life. Through proactive strategies and outstanding interagency collaboration, we achieved a meaningful disruption of criminal activity. We remain firmly committed to leveraging every partnership and strategy available to keep our city safe. ✅ 168 traffic stops ✅ 61 citations ✅ 25 arrests ✅ Approximately 538 grams of narcotics seized ✅ More than $9,700 in US currency seized ✅ 4 ABC violations cited @NCPublicSafety @MeckABC @NCSHP

With summer just beginning, we’re already seeing an uptick in juvenile-related criminal activity—and we want to be clear: there will be zero tolerance for violence or illegal behavior that threatens the safety and quality of life in our city. This past weekend, our officers conducted a coordinated Center City Weekend High-Visibility Enforcement Operation that concentrated on preventing juvenile-related violence, reducing nightlife disorder, maintaining safe traffic flow and ensuring compliance with vendor and alcohol regulations in high-activity areas. This two-night Uptown-focused initiative produced significant enforcement outcomes: ✅ 27 arrests - 23 of which were juveniles ✅ 13 parents cited for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor ✅ 2 illegal firearms seized ✅ 6 traffic stops ✅ 11 parking citations ✅ 2 vehicles towed ✅ 2 ABC violations cited Charges included: Assault on a Government Official, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Driving While Intoxicated, Resist, Obstruct, Delay, Trespass, Affray, Reckless Driving, Disorderly Conduct, Curfew violations and more. Officers also encountered a large‑scale juvenile gathering of more than 200 teens at Romare Bearden Park and quickly deployed additional resources to maintain order, disperse the crowd and ensure a safe environment for park visitors, businesses and residents. Juveniles, think twice before doing something that could ruin more than just your summer. And parents, YOU could also be charged if your child is out committing crimes, so we urge you to know where your kids are, who they’re with and what they’re doing. We’re committed to using proactive strategies and increased enforcement throughout the summer to prevent unlawful behavior from disrupting our community. Everyone deserves a safe and enjoyable summer, and we will continue working to protect it.

Excellent work on a corridor that has been plagued for years. #sugarcreekclt #sugarcreekbusinessassociation #northendpartners #northtryonclt #hiddenvalleyclt
After some much needed landscaping at the Garden Inn and Suites at the end of May, we have continued our cleanup crusade of the Sugar Creek Road and Reagan Drive area with Operation Nite Shade. Working to remove dangerous criminals, narcotics and firearms, our North Tryon Division continues to crack down on the criminal activity that inhabits that area. Thanks to their proactive initiatives, determination and vigilance, they continue to make significant strides in making that area safer for everyone. In the first week of June, Operation Nite Shade led to: · 26 traffic stops · 10 arrests · 8 citations · More than 31 grams of suspected fentanyl seized · Over 7 grams of suspected marijuana seized · Approximately 2.63 grams of suspected crack cocaine seized · Almost 7 grams of suspected cocaine seized · 1 illegal firearm seized

Bid was submitted years before the Charlotte FC boom. But Bank of America Stadium is a potential host site for the 2031 Women’s World Cup. Stadium should be renovated by then too.
I’ll forever be pissed Charlotte didn’t get any World Cup games like the aesthetic is there

The Garden Inn and Suites got some much-needed cleaning up yesterday, as our department and the Charlotte FBI descended upon the rampant drug trafficking network that had taken up residence among the halls of this hotel. With 10 people arrested and charged, many of them being hotel employees 👀, and numerous illegal firearms and narcotics seized, it was a cleanup for the books - and it doesn't stop there! Drop a comment if there are any other hotels, or other businesses, in need of a housekeeping call! 😉 @FBICharlotte @USAO_WDNC

The Queen City and economic development go hand in hand! Today, @NC_Governor announced one of Japan’s largest financial institutions, SMBC Group, will establish its second U.S. headquarters in Charlotte. The company plans to create 2,000 jobs over six years and invest $50.5 million in Mecklenburg County. This is one of the largest economic development announcements in Charlotte's history. SMBC plans to hire about 1,800 employees locally with the remainder relocating to Charlotte. “As SMBC continues to grow substantially in the United States, Charlotte is a standout location for us to invest in North Carolina for the long term in a major expansion that will establish our roots in the community,” Hirofumi Otsuka, CEO for SMBC Americas, said.
