The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC)’s Tokenization Service went live yesterday.
The central post-trade infrastructure of the US market is now issuing tokenized securities on-chain. Two networks at launch: DTCC’s private Besu, and @CantonNetwork, the only public one.
The numbers:
→ 34 eligible securities at launch, select Russell 1000 large caps, ETFs, US Treasury bills, notes and bonds
→ ~$30T in market value across those 34
→ $114T+ held at DTC’s depository, the addressable pool behind this
→ 20 firms signed: @jpmorgan , @Citi , @BankofAmerica , @MorganStanley , @UBS , @StateStreet , @Fidelity , @Barclays , @Citadel
→ 15 minutes or less to convert a security into a token.
This isn’t a pilot or a consortium announcement. It’s the rails of the US securities market, in production, on a public network, under an SEC no-action letter.
Citi projects $5.5T in tokenized securities by 2030. As of yesterday that stopped being a forecast about technology and became a question of distribution

Dar Blockchain, in partnership with The @hashgraph Association and other ecosystem partners, has launched a Web3 incubation programme designed to help emerging startups move from early-stage prototypes to market-ready businesses.
The initiative addresses a major challenge facing technology founders: turning promising ideas and hackathon projects into sustainable, scalable ventures.
The programme brings together partners with complementary expertise to support founders across technical development, business structuring, investment readiness, and market entry.
wikistartup_ir will contribute to venture structuring and go-to-market preparation, while UGFS NA : United Gulf Financial Services-North Africa will support investment readiness and financing pathways. Security partner softstack ⧉ will provide expertise in smart contract auditing, architecture reviews, and technical optimisation.
By combining technical guidance with business development and investment preparation, the initiative aims to strengthen the foundations of emerging Web3 ventures and improve their readiness for commercial deployment.
For Africa’s startup ecosystem, programmes of this kind could help bridge the gap between blockchain innovation and viable businesses, supporting the development of solutions capable of competing in global markets.

The Hedera Africa Hackathon gave us 13,000+ developers and 1,300+ submissions. The hard part was never finding talent — it was what happens after the applause. A prize is not a business model. So a share of the prize pool now goes directly into product development, technical implementation and market validation for those same winners.
Our target: at least five seed-ready companies by January, and signed LOIs or live pilots for more than 60% of the cohort by gate three.

🇹🇳 Enda Tamweel is developing an impact-based loyalty program on Hedera with The Hashgraph Association.
The Tunisian microfinance institution has around 550,000 active clients and is integrating the program with its existing core banking system.
The PoC is designed to reward clients for repayment history and completed loan cycles, as well as job creation, business formalization, renewable energy investment and digital adoption.
The loyalty engine connects through APIs, with calculations handled in the background and key interactions recorded on Hedera.

Two days at the European Blockchain Convention in Barcelona, and the clearest signal wasn't on any stage.
80 of Europe's top 100 banks were in the room.
That tells you the debate is over. Nobody asked whether institutions will touch digital assets. The sessions were about licensing, stableCoin frameworks, and tokenising real world assets.
What stayed with me is where the map stops.
Almost every tokenisation case I heard was European or American. The places where these tools solve the sharpest problems, land registries, trade finance. South of the Mediterranean barely mentioned.
That's the bridge we're building: from Europe, for Africa. Not many are working on it.
And of course the best part wasn't the agenda. It was the hallways, the side events, the dinners that ran late, reconnecting with old friends and connecting with new ones.
