Even After Everything, I Still Love You
Days became weeks.
And weeks became a nightmare for Dracaena Malfoy.
The girl who once walked through Hogwarts with her head held high was slowly disappearing.
Her face became paler than a ghost. The spark in her eyes faded. Her beautiful silver-blonde hair became increasingly untidy, and the meals she once enjoyed remained untouched.
She barely spoke to anyone anymore.
Even Pansy and Daphne struggled to get a proper conversation out of her.
And Harry?
Harry continued ignoring her.
At first, he convinced himself that he was doing the right thing.
Harry: (Am I being too hard on her?)
He watched Dracaena sitting alone at the Slytherin table, staring at food she never touched.
Harry: (No. She was the one who ignored me first. She was the one who hurt me. I only did what she did to me.)
He looked away and continued eating.
Harry: (She wanted nothing to do with me before. So why should I care now?)
But the next day, he saw her sitting by a window, staring blankly at the rain.
She looked thinner.
The day after that, he passed her in the corridor.
She didn't even notice him.
And then, one afternoon, he saw her sitting beneath a tree in the courtyard. Her hands trembled slightly as she stared at the ground, her face so pale that she almost looked like a corpse.
Harry slowed his steps.
Harry: (Is she okay?)
Dracaena didn't move.
Harry: (Merlin... at this rate, she's going to starve herself to death.)
He wanted to approach her.
He wanted to ask whether she had eaten anything that day.
He wanted to tell her to stop looking so miserable.
But his pride held him back.
Harry: (She hurt me first. I have every right to walk away.)
And so he walked away.
Yet, that evening, the image of her pale face followed him everywhere.
He couldn't concentrate on his books.
He couldn't enjoy his dinner.
And when he closed his eyes, he remembered the girl who had once screamed his name while begging him not to leave.
For the first time, Harry began to wonder whether winning had ever been worth it.
One night, outside Hogwarts.
The sky was clear, and countless stars glittered above the castle.
Dracaena stood alone near the edge of the grounds, looking up at the heavens.
The cold wind swept through her silver-blonde hair.
She barely noticed it.
Dracaena: (How did everything become like this?)
She remembered the girl she used to be.
Proud. Arrogant. Cruel.
The girl who had laughed at Harry.
The girl who had mocked him whenever he tried to speak to her.
The girl who had believed that he would always be there, no matter how badly she treated him.
Dracaena: (I was such an idiot.)
Her eyes filled with tears.
Dracaena: (I hurt him. I made him cry. I made him feel worthless, and now...)
She pressed a trembling hand against her chest.
Dracaena: (Now I can't even get him to look at me.)
She hated herself for what she had done.
She hated the memories that kept returning to haunt her.
Most of all, she hated the fact that despite everything, despite the pain and humiliation, despite the countless nights she had spent crying herself to sleep...
Her heart still belonged to Harry.
Dracaena: (I want everything to stop. I want to stop hurting. I want to stop hating myself.)
A tear rolled down her cheek.
Dracaena: (But I still love you, Harry.)
She lowered her head.
Dracaena: (I still love you so much.)
She had no idea what tomorrow would bring.
She didn't know how much longer she could endure the loneliness.
But tonight, she remained standing beneath the stars, holding on to the one feeling she couldn't force herself to abandon.
Then she heard footsteps behind her.
She didn't turn around.
Dracaena: Please... I want to be alone.
The footsteps stopped.
For several seconds, there was nothing but the sound of the wind.
Then someone stepped closer.
Two familiar arms wrapped gently around her from behind.
Dracaena froze.
She knew those arms.
She knew that warmth.

Dracaena: Well, well, Potter. Eating alone? How pathetic.
Harry continued eating.
Dracaena: Hello? I'm talking to you.
Harry took a sip of his pumpkin juice.
Dracaena: Are you deaf, Potter?
Harry stood up, picked up his plate, and moved to another table.
Dracaena: ...
For some reason, that annoyed her more than any insult ever could.
The following morning, Dracaena found Harry in the library.
Dracaena: Potter, I've decided to forgive you for yesterday.
Harry continued reading.
Dracaena: You should thank me, you know. Not everyone would tolerate your attitude.
Harry turned a page.
Dracaena: Harry?
Nothing.
She snatched the book from his hands.
Dracaena: LOOK AT ME WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!
Dracaena froze.
He wasn't angry. He wasn't even annoyed.
He simply ignore.
Dracaena stood there, feeling strangely humiliated.
Days became weeks.
Dracaena tried everything.
She insulted him.
He ignored her.
She deliberately walked past him in the corridors.
He walked straight past her.
She laughed loudly with her friends whenever he was nearby.
Harry never even turned his head.
Finally, she couldn't take it anymore.
One evening, the corridor was empty when Dracaena finally caught up with Harry.
Dracaena: Harry, wait!
Harry continued walking.
Dracaena: Potter! I'm talking to you!
He didn't even turn around.
Dracaena ran after him and stood in front of him, blocking his path.
Dracaena: What the hell is wrong with you?! Why are you ignoring me?!
Harry stepped around her.
Dracaena: Harry!
She grabbed his sleeve.
Dracaena: You used to argue with me! You used to get angry! You used to look at me whenever I spoke!
Harry gently pulled his sleeve free.
He walked away.
Dracaena stood completely still.
Then she ran after him again, tears gathering in her eyes.
Dracaena: HARRY, PLEASE!
He kept walking.
Dracaena: JUST LOOK AT ME!
Nothing.
Dracaena: I'M SORRY, OKAY?! I'M SORRY FOR EVERYTHING I SAID! JUST PLEASE, SAY SOMETHING!
Harry reached the staircase.
Dracaena: PLEASE DON'T IGNORE ME!
Her voice echoed through the empty corridor.
Harry paused for a moment.
Dracaena held her breath, desperately hoping he would turn around.
But he simply continued walking.
Dracaena: No... no, please...
She chased him down the stairs, stumbling as tears streamed down her cheeks.
Dracaena: HARRY! I'M BEGGING YOU! JUST HATE ME! SCREAM AT ME! TELL ME I'M A HORRIBLE PERSON! DO SOMETHING!
Harry stopped at the bottom of the staircase.
For one brief moment, she thought she had finally reached him.
He turned around.
Harry: Dracaena, why would I do that?
Dracaena could barely breathe through her sobs.
Dracaena: BECAUSE I CAN'T STAND THIS! I CAN'T STAND YOU LOOKING THROUGH ME LIKE I'M NOTHING!
Harry stared at her quietly.
Dracaena: I KNOW I'M HORRIBLE! I KNOW I'VE HURT YOU! SO PLEASE, JUST GIVE ME ONE MORE CHANCE! JUST ONE!
She fell to her knees, covering her face with both hands.
Dracaena: PLEASE, HARRY... PLEASE...
Harry looked at her for several seconds.
Then he spoke softly.
Harry: I don't hate you, Dracaena.
She slowly lifted her head, tears covering her face.
Harry: I just don't want you in my life anymore.
Her expression broke.
Dracaena: No...
Harry turned away.
Dracaena: NO! HARRY, PLEASE! DON'T GO!
She scrambled to her feet and reached for him, but he was already walking away.
Dracaena: HARRY! I LOVE YOU! PLEASE, I'M SORRY!
He didn't stop.
Dracaena: PLEASE! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!
Her screams echoed through the staircase.
Harry disappeared around the corner.
And then there was silence.
Dracaena collapsed onto the cold stone floor, sobbing so violently that she could barely breathe.
For years, she had laughed whenever Harry looked hurt.
She had mocked him when he was lonely.
She had believed he would always be there, always react, always give her another opportunity to hurt him.
Now she desperately wanted just one more argument.
One more moment when Harry would look directly at her.
