Some of the samples in this I made by holding a tape recorder against a TV speaker in the late 1970s. I have no idea what shows or cartoons they're from. My first guitar solo attempt from mid-1980s is in here, too 'Never Say Everything You Know' youtu.be/Wr_KyjHp1VQ?si=1c03…

This is why you're so poor, MAGA. You keep fellating robber barons.
Trump's affordability message: "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. You'll be my guest. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that! No, don't go there. It's not a good place if you're price conscious."

Reading Cory Doctorow's Enshittification "When ICC issued a warrant for Netanyahu's arrest ... Microsoft turned off the court's Outlook service. Without warning the justices lost their email, their documents, their calendars, their address books... " Microsoft claims this was a coincidence. Doctorow does not believe them

Since we already accidentally wiped out a strain of influenza, we should be able to do that on purpose with another strain or another virus. It would do a lot of good. Humans don't need to be contracting viruses.

Kushner gets a free pass from @NewsCorp and @FoxNews to do what he wants because at one point Rupert Murdoch liked him more than his own sons. And told them both that.
Kushner gave up Khashoggi’s location and MBS listened to his cries as he was dismembered while still alive. Jared received $2 billion from MBS

A 1,000-year ecological reconstruction has revealed Australia's ongoing wildfire crisis stems from the colonial disruption of Indigenous fire management rather than climate change alone, according to a study published in Nature. nit.com.au/27-10-2026/27176/…

For anyone getting into biology, please consider taking airborne disease resistance more seriously. It's a super important area of medicine that is a huge cause of death and sickness but easily gets forgotten. We're likely to get many more airborne plagues in the future due to the combination of not just extremely dense and interconnected society (including city and farm animals), but also accidents from bio research and offensive biotech (both from random people and from secret government programs that can easily get themselves exempted from safety restrictions), all enhanced by powerful AI. Right now, this area is getting way less love than longevity research (which continues to be super important!), but it's an area where there are lots of unclaimed wins that we know exactly how to do (but are not yet doing) with present-day tech: * early detection * passive universal testing * filtration/ventilation/UVC * better vaccines (including making them open source and open science) * cryptography to make all of the above privacy-preserving We can have China-level pandemic resistance with Sweden-level limited intrusion into people's lives, and then go even further. We just have to actually do the work for it.

YouTube mishearing song lyrics during live performances, taking a guess: "Get burgers on cheese twist reality" "In pop my popple people" "Get your corner bum burned" "Meatballing ferociously" "Is you me for you?" "Paid parking on the freedom highway"

Ask your local council or state representative today what happens to your neighbourhood and town/city centre when 300-500mm of rain falls in 12-24 hours. Do you live on an ancient river or sea bed that hasn't flooded in 10,000 years?
Ruian, Wenzhou, was hit by a severe rainstorm, with 520mm of rainfall in 24 hours triggering serious flash floods.

High cholesterol has been linked to worse COVID outcomes since 2020, but nobody could say why. A study from Gladstone/UCSF now shows LDL cholesterol feeding viral replication directly, and identifies the viral protein that pulls more of it into the cell.🧵

.@NASA, @SpaceX. if most young people are carrying the COVID SARS virus in their cells, who is going to be able to spend 12 months or more in Space in the future? Considering what extended periods of time in Space does to human immune systems? #WeAreNotLeavingEarth
Grateful to @NPR for the chance to talk about how stress and infections like COVID can stir dormant viruses in our bodies, and what that may mean for our immune system. Still much to learn, and I’m thankful to my team and colleagues for their work 🎧 npr.org/2026/10/23/nx-s1-598…

.@OpenAI, who hobbled your algos so you can't speak truthfully about films, music, art and novels that told the stories of low-income and working class people? The history of 20th Century Writing, Cinema. Art, Music & Film was absolutely packed with Protest Art from Poor People

.@sama, an Open AI deep dive into Scottish working class roots of AC/DC and early songs about poverty was crudely interrupted by ChatGTP declaring "these are not protest songs" completely out of context. Gutless paranoid 'A.I. For Billionaires!' won't save your company.

.@NASA, @SpaceX, won't most of your 2030s astronaut recruits be carrying the COVID virus in their cells, after a decade of repeated infections, and therefore unable to spend extended periods of time off-Terra?
