As a coach, I think we’ve got youth basketball backwards. We chase games when we should be building players. USA Basketball recommends: 8–12: 70% training / 30% competition 12–15: 60% / 40% 14–17: 50% / 50% Playing more isn’t the same as developing more. I actually like this recommendation. 8-12 is really focusing on skill development. That’s been my approach.

I don't think people are truly comprehending the magnitude of what's coming. And it's happening right under our noses like all the rest we've been yelling about, too late. Thank you, Sen Hawley! Get wise, America. 🌺

‼️ THIS IS A REMINDER TO ALL HS BASKETBALL PLAYERS‼️ Summer is where you separate yourself. Stay disciplined. Get in the gym an hour a day. That’s all you need. You will separate yourself. Look at your screen time… you got an hour to spare.

It won’t matter how many rings or MVPs he wins, I don’t think anyone will ever consider him in a top 10 all time debate

New Badgers football offensive line coach Eric Mateous is not shy about his distaste for up-tempo offenses (watch his eye roll). IHO players in a fast-paced offense may not give everything on a single play because they’re trying to keep gas in the tank for the rest of the game.
