I was accused of 'whipping up division' across Britain by a Labour Minister in Parliament today. 'Moral bankruptcy', he called it, as their MPs all cheered like performing seals desperate for yet another fish. The calibre of politicians running our country, compared with the quality, intelligence and decency of the British people they are supposed to represent, is frankly obscene. You cannot believe it. The lunatics aren't just running the asylum, they've broken out and somehow stormed parliament in sufficient numbers to 'run' the country. Our people deserve so much better than this shower of arrogant, self-congratulatory, unimpressive mediocrities who have the sheer cheek to lecture the rest of us about morality. The tragedy of modern Britain is that the people being governed are infinitely more capable than those governing them.

Our second product is called Blindsight and it will, as the name suggests, enable even those who are completely blind or have never seen to see. It is ready from an engineering standpoint. Just waiting on regulatory approval.
Neuralink’s first product is called Telepathy. It enables high-speed communication with computers or humans simply by thinking. Output bandwidth will vastly exceed the fastest human speech or typing in a few years. Read that sentence again.

1/ I'm a cardiologist. I've practiced for twenty-five years, through a lot of "breakthroughs" that turned out to be press releases. So understand the weight of what I'm about to say: I have never seen a single week in medicine like the one we just lived through. In the span of a few days, four separate scientific breakthroughs landed. The stock market treated them as four unrelated stories and sent a handful of biotech companies soaring. But that's the shallow read. Look closer and they are not four stories at all. They are four faces of the same story — the biggest shift in medicine since the discovery of antibiotics. Medicine is becoming programmable. Individualized. Written for one human being instead of the average of millions. Let me walk you through exactly what happened, in plain language, and show you where this is actually headed. Because the future arrived quietly this week, and most people scrolled right past it.

Scientists knew this moon existed before they ever saw it. They spotted these waves in Saturn's rings in 2005 and realized something had to be making them. They did the math and found it. The moon is about the size of Mount Everest. It's called Daphnis. About 5 miles across, shaped like a frozen potato, orbiting inside a 26-mile-wide gap in Saturn's brightest ring. As it moves through, its gravity yanks on the ice along the edges of that gap, pulling chunks up and letting them fall back down. Those are the waves in the photo. They rise almost a mile above the rest of the ring. Saturn's rings are huge. Stretched end to end, they'd go three-quarters of the way from Earth to the Moon. They're also absurdly thin. In places, they're about 30 feet top to bottom. The height of a three-story house. If you shrunk the whole ring down to the size of a football field, it would be thinner than a piece of paper. So a mountain-sized moon is pushing mile-high walls of ice out of a sheet thinner than paper. This is also how planets get built. When a new star is born, it's surrounded by a thin, spinning pancake of dust and ice. If a chunk of rock in that pancake grows big enough, its gravity starts sweeping material out of its path, carving a gap. Do that for a few hundred million years and you've got a planet. What the Cassini spacecraft photographed at Saturn is that exact process, happening in miniature, right now. Telescopes on Earth have spotted the same ring-and-gap patterns around other young stars, where baby planets are carving gaps just like Daphnis is here. Saturn's rings are also young. Maybe 100 to 200 million years old, which means they formed during the age of dinosaurs. And Cassini's data showed they're disappearing. Ice is raining down onto Saturn fast enough to empty them out in another 100 million years. We happen to be alive during one of the only windows in Saturn's history when any of this exists.

Atoms, captured in the highest resolution ever. What you’re looking at is praseodymium orthoscandate (PrScO₃), magnified 100 million times. Each dot in the image represents a single atom, locked into a crystal lattice. It may look slightly blurry – but that’s not a flaw. Atoms never sit still. They vibrate constantly due to thermal motion, and this image captures them in their natural, restless state. The milestone was achieved using a technique called ptychography, a form of electron interferometry. By analyzing how electrons scatter when they bounce off atoms, researchers reconstructed an image with unprecedented precision – pushing atomic imaging to its theoretical limits. Here’s what you’re seeing: ◦ Praseodymium atoms – bright blobs appearing in pairs ◦ Scandium atoms – single bright blobs ◦ Oxygen atoms – faint red dots [📷 Cornell University]

We didn’t LiCo into and through a qualifying lap back then. But as the intercoolers, turbos, and motors melted with 1300 bhp at the start of the lap, we probably had 400bhp less by the end of that one lap, and the qually tyres were good for about half of that. And Senna managed this massive variability better than anybody else in a car that inherently wanted to crash, and would hurt you badly if it did. He was my kind of champion.
Replying to @MBrundleF1
But did you LiCo in qualifying?!

When manufacturers sell a 2TB SSD, they calculate storage using the decimal system. To them, 1TB equals 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. So 2TB means 2 trillion bytes. But your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux) doesn’t count storage that way. It uses the binary system, where 1TB (technically 1 TiB) equals 1,099,511,627,776 bytes. So when your OS converts those same 2 trillion bytes into binary units, it shows: 2,000,000,000,000 ÷ 1,099,511,627,776 ≈ 1.8 TB It’s just two different measurement standards fighting each other. On top of that, a tiny bit of space is also used for file systems, formatting, and system metadata, which makes the number look slightly smaller again.
