1/ For context.
Nkrumah inherited a Ghana with substantial reserves, established infrastructure, the world’s leading cocoa position and foreign reserves equivalent to about 3 years of imports. Ghana entered independence with roughly US$481m in reserves. (IMF eLibrary)
And Nkrumah did something remarkable with that foundation. He built and we honored and love him for that.

Yesterday while attending the Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, I learnt that the President of Ghana @officialjdmahama was meeting members of the Ghanaian diaspora in Russia, so I decided to join them.
The moment I arrived, I was introduced with the words, “Wode Maya is here!” What happened next touched me deeply. Mr President stood up from his seat just to give me a warm hug. 🥹🇬🇭
Sometimes, I look back at my journey, from a young man with a camera and a dream to tell Africa’s stories to moments I never imagined experiencing.
Thank you, Mr President, for the consistent love, kindness and respect you continue to show me. I never take it for granted.❤️🙏🏾❤️🇷🇺🇬🇭

Rapperholic is bigger than a concert!
It stimulates economic activity across Kumasi, Accra and the wider Ghanaian economy through tourism, hospitality, transportation, food, fashion, media, advertising, employment and the creative supply chain.
The economic value of this concert extends far beyond ticket sales. It includes visitor spending, revenue for local businesses, temporary jobs created, suppliers paid and the future tourism and commercial opportunities generated by the event.
To the government and private sector, the opportunity is to build an ecosystem where Ghanaian entertainment generates measurable economic value, supports businesses, creates jobs and attracts visitors.
