Trump is reportedly planning to restart war with Iran after the election.
Some of us have been briefed on the war plan. And while I cannot disclose any details, I can say this: the plan is insane. It will not achieve objectives and will set off a new cycle of escalation.

Resumption of the war may be coming. But the “why” hangs out there. There is no military solution (to reach the original 4 war aims, with nuke program being priority) via air power alone. So the answer is always a political one. A quick spasm of violence designed to give us an exit. And just say we r done. Problem is, enemy gets a vote. We may say this will be just 48 hours. But Iranian retaliation via strikes in Gulf or other asymmetric means quite likely. None of this war talk makes sense when the economic strangulation campaign seems to be most effective long term strategy to contain Iran. Interesting days ahead. wsj.com/world/middle-east/u-…
