I spent 15 years taking notes for it.
I spent 41 years picking stocks for it.
I spent 6 months writing it (and loved every moment).
I hope you’ll love it too. 📗
My aim with Rule Breaker Investing is to make YOU:
Smarter, Happier, and Richer.
❄️ Can your investments do TOO well? 🤪
One Fool built a sizable IRA. Now his snowball keeps growing—and so do the taxes on required withdrawals.
A high-class problem! A real one.

Today, one very special Fool heads into retirement. 💛
After 34+ years in finance, Jeff Haslow has earned fewer spreadsheets, fewer meetings, and zero unnecessary pivot tables. 😉
Happy retirement, Jeff. We’re glad you’re not going too far!

Dear @DavidGFool,
I wanted to personally thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments on our YouTube review of Rule Breaker Investing with @NeerajCNBC. It truly made our day to see you engage with the conversation. Thank you for your generosity, wisdom and encouragement.🙏
A big thank-you to Mr. David Gardner!
I’m truly grateful to David Gardner, co-founder of The Motley Fool and author of Rule Breaker Investing, for responding to the review of his book, Rule Breaker Investing, by myself and my friend Raza on my YouTube channel.
It’s incredibly encouraging when an author of his stature engages with the conversation. His ideas on backing innovative businesses, letting winners run, and thinking long-term challenge a lot of conventional investing wisdom.
Thank you, Mr. Gardner, for your generosity and for inspiring investors to stay curious, patient, and independent in their thinking.

📈 Rule Breaker Habit #6: Aim to beat the market with 60% of your stock picks.
Have I achieved that myself? Probably not! 😃
Yet I’ve crushed the market over my career.

The point was made that although rules are introduced to advance the science of pitching, we lose the quality of entertainment that fans once loved in great pitching battles.
It really made me think about the tension between qualitative and quantitative measures in fundamental analysis and about the rule-breakers who push through with cult like following’s. It also brought to mind corporate culture’s constant emphasis on putting the customer first. What does the customer actually want? What do they love most about the product? Companies who honor that really have an edge and seem to come up on-top.
Hearing the crowd ERUPT!! as Jack locks in another perfect pitch tells you everything you need to know about the fans. That energy should be honored, the roar of the crowd, the pure exhilaration. You can still feel it, even if only through an old video clip.
I am a Buy and Hold on bringing back these pitching battles for the game of baseball. ⚾️

The second coolest thing after the awesome poem is the Miroir d’eau.
Very cool !!
Inspiration for all Rule Breakers:
"Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!"

“Monotony collapses time; novelty unfolds it. You can exercise daily and eat healthily and live a long life, while experiencing a short one. If you spend your life sitting in a cubicle and passing papers, one day is bound to blend unmemorably into the next - and disappear. That's why it's so important to change routines regularly, and take vacations to exotic locales, and have as many new experiences as possible that can serve to anchor our memories. Creating new memories stretches out psychological time, and lengthens our perception of our lives.” ~ Joshua Foer, Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything
Very kind, @JRogrow, and thank you.
Yes, reps! The number of reps you rack up across many contexts in your life, John, is awesome. Keep up the great work.
Really enjoyed this interview @ethanrkho and @orrdavid!
To point #1, @DavidGFool has done 20% (maybe more) annualized for 20 years. I once asked him how he got so good? He answered: reps!!!
He explained that he picked 3 stocks every single months for something like 20 years. Some of those picks were re-recs. For example, at the time he stepped back from active stock recommendations he had rec’d ISRG 7 times, each one destroying the market. My GOAT 🐐
