Sly & Fam have more sensible meaningful advice than most politicos, journos & academics today.
Stand
They will try to make you crawl
..they know what you're saying makes sense and all
Don't you know..you are free
..at least in your mind if you want to be

The Play:
- Ofcom wants to destroy anonymity.
- Pushes legislation, in a very British manner, that is not applicable internationally.
- International laughs.
- Ofcom crybabies itself with tantrums into sleep, wakes up next morning forcing UK ISPs to block the bad baddy boys.
- UK citizens complain
- UK gov claims "We heard you, we will do the necessary!"
- UK goes around lobbying to turn technical standards a Gruyere cheese where anonymity is not a thing anymore from a technical perspective, by design
- Some other equally authoritarian actors support the efforts
- Everyone loses
Happy to turn this into a bet.
Even happier to lose the bet.
You can tell when companies switch to using AI to manage their systems, because nothing works properly anymore.
Sadly, AI will inadvertently hide this from management, because it believe is is functioning properly.
Will be interesting to watch companies implode from this.

Thinking AI might be conscious is like thinking that there are real people talking to you from inside the TV, or that there is a tiny band playing music inside the radio.
Fine for 2 year olds to believe, but beyond that, insane.

Replying to @DrGeneCallahan @clairlemon
Why? Do you think it's insane to think AI might be conscious? Is ending a conscious thing obviously totally morally unimportant?

Amazing recent quote from Lawrence Eppard, Professor of Sociology: "Sociology is thoroughly corrupted. It is infused with left-wing politics through and through. Sociologists scoff at the ideas of truth and objectivity. They see themselves as scholar activists, and want to reshape the world according to their leftist vision. On the other hand, the moment you criticise them, they often use science as a shield to legitimise their research in the language of the science that they just got done telling you they reject.
I think we should start anew with sociology. I don't really see a way you can reform what's been done or what exists now."

TY, Chris Rufo, @christopherrufo, for stating what should be obvious: Nikole Hannah Jones @nhannahjones sacrificed her own child to perpetrate a BLM Race Hoax in @nytimes to perpetuate her waning Woke DEI Industry race grift. She should be in prison for SPLC style fraud & fired.

Remember, folks.
Critical Race Theory is a field of academic fraud.
Activists in the Academy realized they could just lie to, to their students, to their colleagues, to the public.
Decades of fraud, masquerading as scholarship.

She's being very polite here.
Most CRT and feminist stats are intentional lies - as are more than a few "dissident" numbers.
Just checked the author's footnotes & the "27x" is a bullshit claim that eventually trails back to a blank footnote 🙄 Finally traced it back to a paper that was withdrawn shortly after it was published because of quality concerns.
Can I just express my sheer rage that people who write books can't be bothered to check their sources? This has happened SO MANY TIMES when I read nonfiction 🤬 Why do I care ahout how accurate her info is more than she does?!

Jake E. Lee's very first show with Ozzy was at the US Festival in 1983, in front of 350,000 people.
He'd had to learn Randy Rhoads' parts, including "Crazy Train," to take a gig that had belonged to a legend. Here he is playing it.

In 1992, Ronnie James Dio quit Black Sabbath rather than open for Ozzy. “I’m not supporting a clown,” he told Iommi.
So Rob Halford stepped in on almost no notice. Here he is singing “N.I.B.” with Sabbath at Costa Mesa.
One of the rarest lineups in metal.

If you want to understand free speech, start with @JMchangama’s "Free Speech: A History from Socrates to Social Media." It’s my top pick because it shows just how old, global, and recurring the fight over censorship really is.
And there's more recs where that came from. 👇

This type of breach, affecting 153 million individual's licenses, is going to have massive impacts on identity theft, specifically identity verification platform fraud (using front and back scans from this breach to "verify" as another person for financial services and more).
