I have deep concerns about the direction this platform is taking.
We will continue to post here about key matters (for the moment) but please follow bsky.app/profile/davidshoebr… for comprehensive updates.
Walls of secrecy have been established inside Defence to prevent any public oversight of the budget disaster caused by the explosion of AUKUS spending. Every other part of the ADF is getting squeezed, all to keep AUKUS going.
Vale Patrick Stewart. Captain Picard has taken his final journey and that’s a deep sadness. He lived long and he showed how to prosper with grace.

The gaming platform Steam is now demanding a credit card to prove your age, and barely half of Australian adults even have one.
Gamers have been contacting my office about being locked out of their accounts and the genuine anxiety this has caused, so I took it to the eSafety Commissioner in Estimates. eSafety agrees it’s not fair and will keep my office updated as they push Steam for better options.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Steam does not lock users out of their accounts. It restricts only R18+ store pages and new mature purchases behind credit card verification for Australian users; libraries, existing games and other features remain accessible.

In May, the AFP received a referral from Amnesty, APAN and AMAN about Australians alleged to have committed crimes while serving in the IDF in Gaza. I asked them for an update in Estimates, and this is where they're at. We’ll keep following it.

Essentially @DavidShoebridge had a job interview at the #NPC & he nailed it. The Australian people need someone to fill the position of national Leader & none of the other candidates interviewed were remotely impressive. We need to dump the tetrapoly.
Defence Estimates today, and I’ll be asking about:
🚢 What AUKUS is really costing us
💻 ASD’s response to cyber operations
🔎 Accountability for war crimes allegations
🎖️ Why veterans are still waiting on claims at DVA

David Shoebridge is on fire at the NPC, rejects claim The Greens are not near the “sensible centre” just coz they don’t bash migrants & oppose Israel’s genocide,
“I reject any correlation b/w that & what we’ve been doing…to call out a genocide & say kids should not be killed”💥
The Greens are today announcing our plan to cut tax on work and put more money in people's pockets.
Every Australian will have an extra $1000, paid for by the 1%.
The cost-of-living crisis isn’t inevitable. We can change who pays tax and who gets relief.
We’ve done this before.
The vote. The eight-hour working day. Medicare. Public education. Safe workplaces.
Progress happened because people came together, demanded better and turned that movement into political change.
