What a moment.
I never imagined holding my this book.
My mum killed my dad. I fought to free her.
This is the story of the abuse we lived through and what led to…
The Unthinkable.

Every allegation made in court against Russell Brand is propelled by his gleeful and unhinged lack of boundaries in private, public and at work.
Not TOO long ago BBC happily celebrated that very behaviour, Brand was free to brag about it with his co-host clapping like a seal.
Matt Morgan:
“During the time I worked with him [Russell Brand], I was never aware of any allegations of serious sexual misconduct against him.”
Matt Morgan w/Brand on air:
“It's been 25 minutes since he showed his willy to a lady.”

Any more lies, Matt?bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment…
Julie Ann McIlwaine’s murder conviction has been quashed. A woman subjected to years of abuse and coercive control, convicted of murdering the man who abused her. The law failed to properly understand the context of that abuse.
➡️ bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cmz9…
Context matters so much in cases involving domestic abuse. Never as justification, but to understand the pattern of control and escalation of violence that preceded it, and survival that came before.

Glad to see this appeal lodged.
Julie Ann McIlwaine killed her abusive partner while he was on bail and under a restraining order. No loss of control defence accepted.
Convicted of murder.
Once again, an abused woman is punished for surviving.

‘Consensual sexual strangulation’ is an utterly grotesque framing for the killing of a 16-year-old girl…

This is an absolute disgrace! Talk about the Guardian going to the dogs, it is not sexual choking, she was strangled to death. This headline must be changed immediately. I’ll be writing to the readers editor. Please also join me in doing so:

We’re pleased to see LBC covering matricide - the killing of mothers by their (usually adult) children, usually sons.
Mothers are dying at the hands of sons - but warnings of violence are being missed lbc.co.uk/article/sons-killi…
Interesting what people know, sit on, then leak when it suits them. Women’s harms are once again being used by men as ammunition in a political power struggle. Football’s leadership is rotten to the very core.
Uefa paid off an alleged mistress of Gianni Infantino while he was its general secretary, The Telegraph can disclose.
The woman received a six-figure sum after the alleged relationship with Mr Infantino while he was a top official at European football’s governing body.

Pleased to see bold action addressing the mental health emergency that has engulfed this country for far too long. I care deeply about this because suicide is a leading cause of domestic abuse-related deaths.
Survivors, including children, can live with trauma for many years without support. This can impact their relationships, physical health and sense of safety long into adulthood. I know this because I have walked it, and because I have met many other survivors who have too.
Suicide silently claims far, far too many of us. We need bold ambition to help lead us out of the darkness, so we can heal, rebuild and believe in the future each of us deserves.
We’ve all had some experience of struggles with mental health. Maybe you’ve stood by a loved one in a time of need. Maybe you’ve been through tough moments yourself.
Too often, illness is only half the challenge, with people forced to wait too long and fight too hard to get the help they need.
Today, we’re announcing a major expansion of NHS mental health services so people can get help earlier and closer to home.

Just woke up to find @KemiBadenoch is allowing this guy as a Tory candidate.
He was convicted for racial harassment for 5 specific blogs. But that wasn’t all - he’d published *reams* of deeply racist, misoginistic and pornographic material about me.

Huge respect to Archie Goodburn, who campaigning for better brain cancer research funding, whilst living with a terminal diagnosis of his own, made this emotional plea to Andy Burnham this morning. A must watch...

Why does this article not lead with the fact that its been ruled (and proven in multiple cases) that evidence from Enough's testing kits are NOT admissible in court? Why is this journo trying to protect this company? theguardian.com/commentisfre…
