So some exciting news to start the bank holiday weekend! I’ll be starting a new role with Derby County as an academy scout covering London and the south. Really grateful for the opportunity to step up and represent a category 1 club ⚽️
A top first half from Cray… off the ball they’ve been so disciplined and stopped Stockport playing through.
Some good old fashioned way of football… didn’t realise you could score a goal with a 60 yard pass 🤪
I don’t mind technology in the game but if human error still occurs where do WE (Spectators/Players/Coaches) actually see the benefit?
I’m curious to know how that 1 point dropped will impact United further down the line… it could cost them 100s millions £
How many VAR/Official decisions are we going to see a “Review” before anything is actually done. We are all human and make mistakes BUT not only has an on field official made the mistake but a team who have access to 10s of replays have got it wrong….

🚨 OFFICIAL: Pro Ref confirm “an error of judgement” in Haaland’s goal — also informing Man United directly.
“Following the incident in the 60th minute of Sunday's Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Manchester City at Old Trafford, we can provide clarification regarding Erling Haaland’s awarded goal.
“The on-field decision was offside against Erling Haaland – that was checked by VAR and he was found to be in an onside position.
“In the same attack, it was established that Enzo Fernandez did not play the ball and therefore that makes any offside offence subjective, however, on this occasion, the VAR did not recognise the likely impact of his position and should have recommended an on-field review.
“Contact has been made with Manchester United this evening to acknowledge what we deem is an error of judgement. A review of the incident will take place.”
Massively disappointed for Eddie and Newcastle fans. Brought back European football, delivered a domestic trophy despite losing his best player, lost Gordan and Tonali this window AND yet was still willing to push forward with the club. Certainly won’t be short of offers.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Eddie Howe set to leave Newcastle United. All parties initially chose to continue but 48yo has informed #NUFC of decision to take break & will depart after 5yrs as head coach. Matthias Jaissle of Al Ahli lined up as replacement @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/7479597…
👇 my biggest frustration this evening… used phrases like “courage” and “taking risks” in press conferences and yet he didn’t demonstrate that himself.

If you lose the threat in behind, teams have no reason to drop off. They squeeze the pitch, commit more players forward and keep the pressure on. The longer you defend, the more concentration drops. That's why I've never liked going too defensive too early.

Gabriel Clarke’s two interviews with Thomas Tuchel and Jude Bellingham were dreadful. Tuchel was very clear in his praise for England’s strength of character but he wasn’t happy with the performance. Clarke failed to understand Tuchel’s mentality comments. He then gave a misleading follow up to Bellingham which suggested to Bellingham that Tuchel was unhappy with the team. Unnecessarily disruptive and the wrong context of interviewing in two separate interviews.
