Science does not require humans to witness every event directly. It relies on observation, prediction, repeatability, and converging evidence. We have observed evolution in real time: bacteria developing antibiotic resistance, viruses mutating, insects adapting, and new species forming in documented cases. We also have fossils, genetics, and shared DNA patterns that strongly support common descent. and quoting scripture only proves what your scripture says, not that it is true. 😅🤦🏼‍♂️ Every religion has texts making claims. Evidence is what separates belief from knowledge.

Canada is a sovereign country. We will decide who we trade with and how we build our future. It’s of no surprise that President Trump is now lashing out at the prospect of Canada increasing our trade ties with Europe. His response is next level fear of missing out. He has an option: stop being a bully and maybe you’ll get invited back to the party. I am proud that Canada is spreading our wings. Nova Scotia has a long history of trade with the world. Two major Canadian banks - Scotiabank and RBC - were founded in our province to help our entrepreneurs, traders and explorers do business with the world. We have a long history of trade and travel with Europe specifically. Expanding access for Canadian goods to European markets is a good thing, as is strengthening our defence ties with the region. Nova Scotia will always value our friendship with the American people. We value our historic ties to New England in particular. But this friendship cannot mean dependence on a country whose administration has become increasingly unpredictable towards its allies. We’re ready to work with Europe and every reliable partner who wants what Nova Scotia has to offer. We will not be bullied by those who look to oppress us. My focus will continue to be on protecting our future and building Nova Scotia.

There have been lots of reviews of the new Odyssey movie, and as an ancient historian, people are probably expecting me to weigh in. I saw the film yesterday afternoon with my brother and sister (on the regular screen, not IMAX). But first let me just say that if you are expecting me to assess the historical accuracy of the movie, you will be disappointed. When it comes to modern adaptations of ancient literature, historical accuracy is not very relevant. After all, the original is not historically accurate and reflects elements from different time periods, and indeed, while there may be a historical kernel of truth to Odysseus' voyage (though I doubt it), there is no evidence of it ever happening. No, it is far more appropriate for me simply to assess how well the film adheres to the original text. 1/

🚨They're telling you "Canada caved" on the Gordie Howe Bridge. Read the actual terms. The U.S. gets half of net profits, not revenue — after Canada's $6.4B is paid back first. Trump got a headline. Canada kept the bridge, the revenue priority, and the traffic. 👇 open.substack.com/pub/deanbl…

True leafs fans have been through the terrible collapses and many MANY disappointments with Zamboni drivers and embarrassing deadline moves yet we are still here, perhaps you could be a knights fan? #leafsforever isn’t only if they are a contender, it’s win or lose regardless of how angry we are, we don’t throw in the towel or put on a habs jersey.

Wait. 12,500 U/mL? Those are antibody units surely, not spike protein? 🤦‍♂️ So McCullough and co have people measuring spike antibodies this whole time and having them believe its spike protein, when a strong antibody level is consistent with lasting immunity, not a sign of dangerous spike persistence? Of course no detox moved them. You can’t “detox” an antibody. Your immune system is literally just doing its job. 🤦‍♂️ I dunno what to say, just look at the responses this guy got.😵‍💫🥶
My spike protein levels are still at around 12500 u/ml after almost 5 years of vaccination. None of these so called protocols have moved the needle at all. Many severe patients showcase high elevated spike protein levels. Inmodia Lab in Germany is doing great work with testing.

I've been reflecting on why we are losing the battle to disinformation on an unmoderated "unmitigated free speech" platform. It starts with government and institutional distrust. I'd suggest its the very engine that powers it. Here’s why that distrust makes fighting disinformation so hard: 1. Trust acts as a cognitive shortcut When we trust a source (say, a health agency), we can accept complex information without personally verifying every detail. When that trust is broken (sometimes just because a fool like RFK is believed), every claim from that source is met with skepticism. A factual statement like "vaccines save lifes" isn’t taken as reassurance, it’s seen as a cover-up. The same source that debunks the myth is the one already suspected of causing it. 2. Real failures have earned the distrust It’s not all irrational. Governments, pharmaceutical companies, and public health bodies have made serious, documented mistakes and with covid, sometimes clumsy, arrogant pandemic communication made it worst. Conspiracy theorists weaponize these real events as “proof” that this time the same thing must be happening. The kernel of truth makes the lie slippery and hard to isolate. With the antivax propaganda engine behind it, there is no way for truth to win. 3. Disinformation offers simple villains whilst truth offers complex systems A story about a secret cancer-causing ingredient hidden in a kids’ vaccine, for instance, is emotionally satisfying. It names a clear enemy, explains incomprehensible tragedy, and gives a sense of control. The truth is messier. Childhood cancers have multifactorial origins, research involves technical genetic tools like promoter sequences that are easily misunderstood, and safety monitoring systems are robust but hard to explain in a tweet. Complexity loses to clarity every time in a viral social-media environment. People prefer a frightening story they can understand to a reassuring one they can’t. 4. The algorithms reward emotion, not accuracy or truth. Platforms amplify content that sparks outrage and fear. A post claiming “They poisoned the kids’ vaccines” will always outperform a thread politely explaining plasmid DNA nomenclature. This creates a visibility asymmetry. The correction is a whisper, the conspiracy a scream. And when a terrified parent scrolls through their feed, the scream is what they see first. 5. Correcting myths can paradoxically reinforce them Simply repeating “The SV40 sequence does not cause cancer” forces people to process the original claim again. The more familiar a falsehood becomes, the more likely it is to be remembered as true, especially when the correction comes from a distrusted institution. Debunking now basically backfire.

Mr. Secretary's reflexive dismissal of evidence that challenges his narrative, offered without any defense of the evidence he claims supports it, is telling. He overlooks the fact that the paper acknowledged and earlier Danish research directly examined the potential bias from low-dose, non-prescription use (see below). More critically, he ignores what amounts to a built-in test of his own thesis: high-dose prescription users in this study, who should be at greatest risk under his framework, show no such elevation. Noting this as a limitation would be intellectually honest. Calling for retraction, dismissing the study outright, along with all of the other literature failing to support his narrative, is not. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3428…

🧵 Let's count the errors in one tweet: ❌ "Never elected" - Won Nepean, April 28, 2025. ❌ "Not a Canadian resident" - Born NWT, raised Edmonton ❌ "No relationship to Canadians" - Steered our economy through 2008 as Bank of Canada Governor. Signature on currency. ❌ "Unelected majority" - 44% popular vote. Four claims. Zero correct. This is what #disinformation looks like.

Dear Steve Kirsch and Barry Young It's time to have a long overdue heart to heart. If your claims that you care are true, you guys can not continue like this? You pretend like hell, but by now, you know you were wrong, forgot what you said or not looked at the data properly.

Clear evidence that covid vaccines are safe can be found in New Zealand, a country of ~ 5.1m people where ~12,8m vaccines were administered to date. As the graph below from NZ health shows, most of those were administered from March 2021 to March 2022. tewhatuora.govt.nz/our-healt…

Newfoundland’s 52 percent vote was part of a negotiated process that both sides agreed to in advance, and it was implemented through legislation. That does not create a general constitutional rule for secession. In Canada, the Supreme Court’s Secession Reference makes it clear that even a clear majority in a referendum does not automatically allow separation. It creates a duty to negotiate, and the question and majority must be “clear,” meaning more than just a bare 50 percent plus one in practice. So while 52 percent can be politically meaningful, legally it is not enough on its own to trigger independence or override the constitutional process.
