What if, and hear me out here, we could blend what we know about cognitive load theory AND inquiry instruction? What might that look like in the classroom? #responsivemathclassroom
I'm looking for 3 math teachers who are willing to share 15 minutes with me to talk about the challenges of being a math teacher. If that's you, grab a timeslot on my calendar below. 15 minutes! calendly.com/deanofmath1/emp…

Show me a #maths lesson and I will show you how it can be improved through the addition of inquiry-based practices #iTeachMath

ALT Teacher: "... and now I want to prove this theorem." Pupil: "Why bother to prove it, teacher? I take your word for it." Professor: „... Und nun will ich Ihnen diesen Lehrsatz jetzt auch beweisen." Junge: „Wozu beweisen, Herr Pro-fessor? Ich glaub' es Ihnen so." Figure 1. If there are any math teachers still kicking around on here, I'd LOVE to talk with you! I'm conducting an educator study around challenges facing math teachers, so if you have 15 mins to share with me, I'd be grateful if you could jump on a call with me!

Being tribal about education, assuming those with different ideas and priorities are the enemy and pose an existential threat, won't be much, if any, more helpful in advancing the conversation than being tribal about politics has.
A simple, and yet effective framework for your (math) classroom:
1. Connect - gather your learners. Share a story. Provoke Learning.
2. Explore - work a problem, engage in discussion.
3. Reflect - consolidate, self-assess, check in.
