Almost like an apology, Trump praised Modi to the skies day before yesterday at the G7 summit in Evián, France in front of global media and called him the toughest negotiator in the world, he said as long as Modi's in charge, India will always have a big say on developments / conflicts around the world, he referred to Modi as a Father figure but a killer, he went all out to massage Bharat's ego even going so far as to declare unilaterally that America will help India if it ever comes under attack ( not that India needs it)
Nobody asked Trump to prostrate before Modi ji in this fashion but he did it as an outreach to break the ice that had formed.
Modi did not even return the huge compliments Trump kept paying him.. He just sat next to him and smiled as Trump lay prone before Modi paying homage to what he called a great country led by the greatest leader....
Moral of the story -- Never react or get provoked when critics lie and call you Surrender Narendra.....
