The 13th ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM)-Plus reinforced the importance of looking ahead and preparing for future challenges.
As Singapore takes over the ADMM Chairmanship in 2027, our aim is to go FAR together – Forward-looking, Agile and Resilient.
(1/4) For a small country like Singapore, the region’s peace and stability are vital to our nation’s security. This is why platforms like the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) matter.
(3/4) The ADMM also held meetings with the United States and Japan, and I had bilateral meetings with several of my counterparts. These engagements help us strengthen relationships and explore areas where we can work more closely together.
(1/3) Glad to catch up with His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen again, this time in Singapore! We recently met in Brunei at the Singapore-Brunei Joint Parade, where we commemorated 50 years of defence relations between our countries.

(2/3) Prince Mateen is no stranger to Singapore. In 2018, he underwent Aviation Physiology Training here and returned in 2023 to visit SAFRA Choa Chu Kang. This time, we will host him for a visit to the Special Operations Task Force at Sembawang Air Base.
(1/3) This year, 🇸🇬 and 🇧🇳 mark 50 years of defence relations. I joined Prime Minister @LawrenceWongST at the Singapore-Brunei Joint Parade at Muara Naval Base to commemorate this milestone. The occasion brought back fond memories of our interactions over the years.
(2/3) I recall hosting His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah at our Multi-Mission Range Complex in 2014, when I was 2nd Minister for Defence. I remember His Royal Highness firing the SAR-21, and we even took the Light Strike Vehicle Mark-II for a drive!
During my visit to Doha, I met my counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs His Excellency Sheikh Saoud.
Singapore and Qatar share warm and friendly ties. We look forward to working together for the mutual benefit of both our countries. 🇸🇬🤝🇶🇦
(1/3) Training season’s never over at #XPS2026! I visited our soldiers training there & got a first-hand look at how they have been sharpening their skills & building the confidence to take on more demanding missions together.
(2/3) This year marks 10 years of SAF’s training at the Oberlausitz Military Training Area in Germany. Training grounds like OMTA give our soldiers the space to train at scale, take on more complex missions, and hone the skills & confidence needed to keep Singapore safe.
A proud moment for the Republic of Singapore Navy as we launch OPV Sentinel, our first Offshore Patrol Vessel, in Berne, Germany.
Fair winds and following seas, OPV Sentinel. ⚓️🇸🇬
(1/4) Happy to meet my friend German Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius again, where we continued our conversation on recent geopolitical developments & how 🇸🇬 and 🇩🇪 can further strengthen our defence partnership!
(3/4) I also laid a wreath at the Bundweshr Memorial & inspected the Guard of Honour at the Federal Ministry of Defence.
