One interesting factor in the South Carolina–Mississippi State game: Bulldogs head coach Jeff Lebby is Kendal Briles’ brother-in-law. More importantly, they both came from the Art Briles coaching tree and understand the same offensive DNA: ptempo, spacing, vertical shots and quarterback runs. Lebby probably understands Kendal’s tendencies better than almost any coach Carolina will face. But that knife cuts both ways. Kendal knows how Lebby thinks and should be invaluable to Clayton White during preparation. They don’t have each other’s current playbooks, but they know the philosophy behind them. That could matter on third down, in the red zone and with in-game adjustments. It adds one hell of a chess match to an already dangerous SEC game. #GamecockNation #gamecockcommunity #gamecockfootball #
