I've decided to start hunting poor villages, just so you can compare them to your finest cities. Villages who manage to conjure decent expressions of civilizations without needing to export revival. This is one of the poorest villages in one of the poorest regions in Italy 🇮🇹

Bro to Bro: The best is to first secure a cash flow, it’s very hard but with $500k. You can invest $300k into treasury bill and earn every year through interest. 18% of $300k is $54,000. Flex it into 12 months, that’s $4500 every month. $4500 every month can take care of any basic bills anywhere in this world.
Bro to bro: When you make money, buy land and other properties. Whenever you go to zero and you remember your assets, you always have something to fall back to. Can never wrong with this. You are welcome 📌

I would be so pissed if I wasn’t YORUBA. How many of you noticed what happened before Rasheed Apala collected that microphone from Musiliu Ishola? Lemme Tell you: The person playing the Gángan was advising and warning Rasheed Apala through the drum. Whether na Baba Odebembe or Mustapha, whoever was playing that Gángan, BIG RESPECT TO YOU👏🏾 “Osan gangan ni asa ogbe Oromo adie tolohun ofi tasa se ,Osan gangan lasa o gbe” Rasheed Apala deliberately delayed collecting the microphone, and Musiliu Ishola immediately understood the message and responded: “Ọmọ mi ni” The depth of Yoruba music, the wisdom embedded in our proverbs, the coded conversations and the effortless way our people communicate through music and instruments. A criminal lawyer once told us about a judge who prayed to God never to sentence anyone to death throughout her judicial career. Years later, just as she was nearing retirement, a terrible criminal case came before her. The evidence was overwhelming, & a death sentence seemed…
THE JUDGE WAS IN TEARS AS HE PRONOUNCED THE DEATH PUNISHMENT ON THE FOUR DEFENDANTS: The job is never easy on our judges and some people will not behave themselves. “You…, is hereby sentenced to death by hanging or through the administration of lethal injection. You shall be haanged by the neck until you are d£ad, may the Lord have mercy on your soul.” When you wake up and decide to commit crime, always remember the implications and ask yourself what it is worth, your life?. Because I 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 applied for 𝘋𝘰𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘦𝘶𝘴, a complementary European PhD certificate, my work was required to be perused by 4 different Professors from 4 different countries. This needed to happen before I stand in public defense. I eventually heard back.
Life Update. Today, I stood before colleagues, research leaders, mentors and a board to deliver the presentation mandated for admission to my PhD viva. I passed the presentation & have been admitted. 🫡 Almost at the finish line, then the reintroduction will be official. 👨‍🎓

Oluwaseun, my namesake. I’ve only just seen this earlier today and I’m deeply, deeply sorry for this experience you had. A car crash changed my life forever, so trust me when I say I understand how traumatic this must have been for you. I’ve spoken with the team at inDrive, and I can assure you that the driver involved has been blocked. In the meantime, we want to make sure that you and your friend are properly attended to, and that your immediate needs and expenses from this incident are being addressed. I’ll personally reach out to you and we’ll take it from here. Please check your DMs. ❤️

@inDrive it’s been over 24hrs!!!!!! 3 emails later and NO positive response on holding your driver accountable for the damage he caused my friend and I. My head was fucking stitched!!!! My friend hit her head and strained her legs and y’all are asking me redundant questions about the drivers detail that I already provided. There’s been no word from the driver in over 24hrs!!! We’ve been in pain and no single tangible statement from you guys yet. I WILL NOT REST!!! Not until y’all take responsibility for this, pay for damages and all our hospital expenses. Also, that driver has to take responsibility for the pain he has caused us. I WILL NOT REST @inDrive

I did not grow up watching my parents practise 50/50. My dad once narrated to me how my mother carried the financial responsibility of the family at a time when he had no job. After their wedding, she paid 5 years' rent with her own money. She bought him a Peugeot 504 Evolution, his first car, and was patient until he learnt how to drive. She sponsored him through his M.Sc. at UNIZIK. My mother worked at USAID and earned very well. Dad had no job, but was never laid back. And this was a woman who had rejected a marriage proposal from a German man who was completely in love with her. But she chose my father because she wanted a man she could build a new life with. My dad even told me that, apart from the bride price he paid, my mother sponsored that elaborate wedding. Yet, in the midst of these, she never weaponized any of these. Instead, she packaged her husband differently to her family until he found favour, and got his feet elevated around 1999. Yet throughout that period, my mother submitted to her husband 💯. I never saw her spend money without his approval. The respect she gave her husband was extraordinary. Those two people never had an argument or disagreement in my presence. Now, that was the marriage I grew up watching. I observed it. I internalised it. And I began to see marriage through that lens. My mother eventually left USAID in 2005. Today, my father is the financial pillar of the entire family. The Anambra man literally practises 100/0 till today. He will detonate a grenade on anyone that disrespects his wife or tries come between him and his wife. There was this day my mom took me out on a date. While we were eating, she opened up to me about why she married my father. She told me she saw a king in him, a man fighting to build a kingdom. She talked so grand and inspiring; I just sat there eating and listening. So when he asked her out, she said yes because she knew that God had not blessed her with resources, networks, and opportunities so she could spend them on bags, shoes, wigs, vacations and hoeing around. She said any woman who is not willing to become the primary resource that builds her man's empire, should have no business desiring marriage. I did not understand this as a woman becoming inferior to her man, or disappearing for her man to be seen. I understand as purpose. People need to recognize that marriage is not two people sharing bills. It is two people building something that neither of them could have built alone. This is why I find some of the things I read from both men and women on this app about relationships and marriage extremely wack and strange. Some of the takes sound more like foolishness acquired from life and more like people designing theories around their fears, insecurities and unresolved childhood experiences. This is why my mother would never tolerate just any woman around me. In fact, the woman who eventually disappointed me was someone my mother had warned me about. And this is where my disagreement with the obsession over 50/50 begins. I believe 50/50 people are trying to turn marriage into some accounting system where each partner must bring in half of their income for the marriage equation to balance. That's nonsense if you ask me. In marriage, you may start with 100/0, and move to 100/50. Then, eventually, with growth, stability, opportunity and shared responsibility, you move to 100/100. There may even be seasons where the percentages change completely. No successful marriage started on 50/50. My point is not that one spouse must permanently carry the other. My point is that marriage should have enough trust, vision and commitment for one person to carry more when the other cannot, without turning that sacrifice into a debt.
I genuinely don’t understand this 50-50 arrangement in marriage, especially when both partners aren’t earning the same. My position has always been 100-100 both people should bring their full capacity to the marriage, not necessarily split every bill down the middle. If one person earns significantly more, why should everything still be forced into 50-50? A friend once told me about her elder sister who had this kind of arrangement with her husband. They split everything household expenses, children’s expenses, bills, everything. And because she wasn’t earning as much as her husband, it became incredibly frustrating for her. Anytime she told me about it, I kept asking, “Why did you agree to this arrangement in the first place?” And now I’m seeing more men openly advocating for 50-50 in marriage, and honestly, I don’t understand it. If you want to build a home with someone, why not focus on both partners contributing 100% of what they reasonably can, rather than turning marriage into a constant bill-splitting exercise?

I hardly do birthday shoutouts. But today, I'm breaking my own rules because Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede is 60! I met Aigboje 24 years ago when he was 36 and had just bought a bank. I was a young man who had somehow talked his way into Standard Trust Bank, only to get kicked out for being insubordinate. Apparently, being smart and hardworking wasn't enough to compensate for my big mouth. 😂 So, I found myself at @myaccessbank. During my interview, Aigboje asked me just one question: "How many are you in your family?" My answer? "I don't know." Omo. I don't know what spiritual forces made him recruit me. Looking back, one of the luckiest things that happened to me was starting my career in a place where excellence was the minimum acceptable standard. Aigboje shaped my understanding of what excellence means more than anyone else I've ever met. He promoted me twice in 3 years. And I even found a woman while I was supposed to be working diligently, and I left Access Bank. But then I came back to found Trium Limited for him within the Coronation Group, and I hung out there for 4 years before starting Lendsqr. Those 4 years taught me governance, institutional excellence, and what it means to build something that can outlive you. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. Now, some people say Aigboje is high-handed. I can confirm that he's someone you shouldn't f* with. He will never trade excellence for mediocrity, no matter who your father is. 😂 He's also probably the smartest person I've ever worked with. And his work ethic? Don't even try. If you ever travel with Aigboje, you will regret your life choices. The man won't let you rest. But if you want to get the best of him, spend time with him outside Nigeria, where you can actually have proper conversations without a thousand people demanding his attention. At 60, he's neither the richest man in the world nor the president of Nigeria. But in my own little world, nobody represents the Quest for Excellence more than Aigboje. I know the best of his life is still ahead of him. Today, I'm going to his birthday celebration. I don't do that for anybody. But for this man, I'll do it a thousand times. Happy 60th birthday, Aigboje. I wish you good health, spiritual fulfillment, and many more years of excellence. Thank you for shaping the man I've become. ❤️
